Ipinagdiriwang ang 4th Philippine Film Industry Month (PFIM) ngayong Setyembre, sa pangunguna ng Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP).
Setyembre 1, 2024, Linggo, ang opening ceremony sa makasaysayang Metropolitan Theatre ng Maynila.
May free screening doon ng pelikulang Aguila (1980) na pinagbidahan ni National Artist Fernando Poe Jr., sa direksiyon ni National Artist Eddie Romero.

Noong araw na iyon ay nagpaparamdam na ang bagyong Enteng, at kinabukasan ay inulan at binaha na ang Kamaynilaan.
Walang pasok sa mga school at government offices sa Metro Manila nang sumunod na dalawang araw, Setyembre 2 at 3, Lunes at Martes.
Ipinagpaliban tuloy ng MMFF ExeComm ang pag-aa-announce ng 50 pelikulang kalahok sa Sine Sigla sa Singkuwenta, na Setyembre 11, sana ang umpisa.

MOVIES IN CINEMAS
Setyembre 4, Miyerkules, nag-uulan man ay tuloy ang 6th Sinag Maynila indie filmfest.
Pito ang full length films na kalahok doon — What You Did, Her Locket, Salome, Maple Leaf Dreams, Talahib, Banjo, at The Gospel of the Beast.
PHP200 ang ticket price ng entries sa Sinag Maynila 2024. Para sa mga senior citizen at PWD na may 20 percent discount, bale PHP160 lang ang tiket.
Ipinalabas ang mga iyon sa Gateway Cineplex 18, Robinsons Galleria, Robinsons Manila, SM Fairview, SM Mall of Asia, SM Manila, SM Megamall, SM North EDSA, SM Southmall, SM Sta. Mesa, at Market Market.

Nag-open din sa local cinemas noong Setyembre 4 ang Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, Unit 234, The End of Days, 40 nina Cindy Miranda at Kiko Estrada, at ang exclusive sa SM Cinema na Into the Mortal World at AfrAId.
Nagsimula rin noong Setyembre 4 ang "Pamanang Pelikula: Honoring the Masterpieces of National Film Legends" program ng FDCP.
Libre ang screenings sa FDCP Cinematheque Centres (Manila, Iloilo, Negros, Davao, at Nabunturan) ng mga piling pelikula ng National Artists for Film and Broadcast Arts hanggang Setyembre 27.
Setyembre 11, Miyerkules, nag-open sa mga sinehan ang Hellboy The Crooked Man, Speak No Evil, Strange Darling, Survive, at Seven Days nina Catherine Yogi at Mike Magat.
Setyembre 12 at 14 ipinalabas exclusively sa SM cinemas ang Usher: Rendezvous in Paris.
Setyembre 18, Miyerkules, nag-open sa local cinemas ang Transformers One, Never Let Goo, Tanklee Genesis x Worlds Collide, Run Baby Run, at Jung Kook: I Am Still.
Iyon ang target playdate noon ng Dear Satan. Dalawang beses na-X ng MTRCB ang nasabing “Satanic” film kaya madilim pa kung saan at kailan ito ipapalabas.

Ngayong Setyembre 25, Miyerkules, ang opening sa local cinemas ng Bad Genius, I, The Executioner, The Substance, Megalopolis, Sinag Maynila entry na Maple Leaf Dreams starring L.A. Santos at Kira Balinger, at ng exclusive sa SM cinemas na Twilight of the Warriors: Walled In at The Paradise of Thorns.
DIREK LORE REYES ON SINE SIGLA
Ngayon din ang umpisa ng MMFF 2024 Sine Sigla sa Singkuwenta, kung saan mapapanood ang previous MMFF films sa iba’t ibang sinehan nationwide sa halagang P50.
Himutok ng beteranong direktor na si Lore Reyes noong isang araw sa Facebook: “Salamat mayroong MMFF@50 pero josmio sino naman nakaisip ng clustering sa iba't ibang sinehan na discourage akong manood bigla. BAWAT PELIKULA KAILANGANG LUMIPAT SA IBANG MALL!?!
“Lubhang kakaunti ba ang funds nila at nagtitipid sa DCP, ganun ba? Or too costly to book cineplexes for the 50-peso screenings?
“Nakakatuwa na sana biglang nakaka bwisit. Haay balak ko pa naman SRR, Karnal, Himala definitely, and four more potentials.
“Ayoko na. I'm too old for this.”

Nasa mall ako ngayong Setyembre 25, 2024, Miyerkules, para sa sunud-sunod na meetings, pero habang may mga taong interesado sa 50 pesos na mga pelikula, hindi nila masakyan pa ang festival schedule ng rotation ng mga pelikula sa MMFF classics.
Manaka-naka rin ang mga tao na nanonood ng mga bagong bukas na pelikula ngayon.
Sana, sana… madagdagan ang mga tao at ipakita ang sigla nila lalo na para sa mga pelikulang Filipino.
Sa huli’t huli, tayu-tayo naman ang magtutulungan. Good luck talaga!

Ultimate film buff ka ba?
Kaugnay sa ika-20 anibersaryo ng pelikulang Ebolusyon ng Pamilyang Pilipino ni Lav Diaz, may libreng screening ito sa Setyembre 26, 2024, Huwebes, sa Cinematheque Center Manila.
May snack breaks sa panonood ng obra maestra ni Lav Diaz. Ang makakabuo sa panonood, tatanggap ng merch!
Ang running time ng pelikula ay 10 oras 40 minuto.
ALIPATO AT MUOG SPECIAL SCREENINGS
Ang documentary na Alipato at Muog ay meron muling screening sa UP Film Center, UP Diliman, Quezon City, sa Setyembre 26, Huwebes ng 4:00 P.M.
Pagkatapos ng screening ay may talkback session si Direk JL Burgos at ang kanyang inang si Edita Burgos.
Ang halaga ng tiket ay PHP150 (student, pwd, and senior) at PHP200 (regular ticket price).

Sa Setyembre 27, Biyernes ng 6:00 P.M., ay may screening din at talkback ang Alipato at Muog sa YSpace sa Yuchengco Museum, RCBC Plaza, Makati City.
Ang halaga ng tiket ay PHP500 (regular), PHP350 (senior, pwd, embassy employees), at PHP250 (students, teachers, YGC employees).
Ticket includes whole-day access to the Museum's exhibits. Bring your valid ID for ticket verification.
Sa Setyembre 27, Biyernes ng gabi, ang closing ceremony ng 4th Philippine Film Industry Month sa isang hotel sa Quezon City. Strictly invitational ito.
This event will bring together filmmakers and industry stakeholders for an evening of reflection, recognition, and the launch of FDCP’s upcoming initiatives, as well as a special tribute to Mother Lily Yu Monteverde.
The evening will feature performances by Nina, Janno Gibbs, 92AD, SPEED Dancers, and Justin Piñon (The Mental Assassin), and will be hosted by Justin Quirino and Gretchen Ho.
The attire is Modern Filipiniana or Barong Tagalog.
