Nag-blend ang fact at fiction sa psychological play na Walong Libong Piso, na isinulat at idinirek ng dating sexy star na si Dante Balboa.
Nakaapat na pagtatanghal na ito last weekend sa Teatrino sa Greenhills, San Juan, Metro Manila.
Sa unang araw noong Biyernes, Agosto 1, 2025, tampok sa matinee si Paolo Gumabao, at nagpakitang-gilas si Jhon Mark Marcia sa evening show.
Noong Sabado, Agosto 2, ay bumida sa matinee si Drei Arias, at nagpasiklab muli si Paolo Gumabao sa gabi.
Para sa second weekend, tampok sa August 8, Friday, matinee si Juan Paulo Calma, na susundan kapagkuwan ni Paolo Gumabao.
Sa August 9, Saturday, nasa matinee si Jhon Mark Marcia, at si Paolo Gumabao muli sa gabi.

WALONG LIBONG PISO: ONE-CHARACTER PLAY
Nakasentro ang one-character play na Walong Libong Piso sa isang sexy actor named Dante Balboa, Elmer Anisco sa totoong buhay, na talent ni Tito Rodel (ginampanan ni Rodel Fernando).
Sa set ay may poster ng tatlong pelikula ni Dante (the writer-director).
Hindi na nagpa-print ng poster na may mukha nina Paolo, Jhon Mark, Drei, at Juan Paulo.
Nabanggit sa palabas si Diana Zubiri, na katambal ni Dante sa pelikulang Kasiping (2002), sa direksyon ni Augusto Salvador.
Ininterbyu si Dante ni Alfie Balbastro (pinagsamang Alfie Lorenzo at Billy Balbastro), na ginampanan ni Butch Francisco.
Ang pangalan ng “lawyer” na ka-chaturbate ni Dante ay Rommel Gonzaga. Ano kaya ang masasabi rito nina Rommel Gonzales, Rommel Placente, at Rommel Galapon?
Kung hindi ako nagkakamali, ang setting ng Walong Libong Piso ay 2007 na kasagsagan ng social networking service na Friendster.
Nag-adlib si Jhon Mark Marcia at binanggit ang Facebook, na at the time ay hindi pa laganap sa Pilipinas.
May video clip ng eksena nina Jeric Gonzales at Therese Malvar sa pelikulang Broken Blooms na ipinalabas noong Disyembre 2022.
Ang producer ng Broken Blooms ay ang Bentria Productions ni Engr. Benjie Austria, na siya ring producer ng Walong Libong Piso.
Masayang shout out ni Direk Dante sa Facebook nitong Agosto 3, Linggo ng gabi, na may karagdagang dalawang pagtatanghal ang dula “due to public insistent demands.”

Nag-post ang actor/director/talent manager na si Ihman Esturco sa Facebook nitong Agosto 3, Linggo ng gabi, kaugnay sa Walong Libong Piso.
“When Fiction Meets Memory: A Clarification” ang title ng FB post ni Ihman.
Aniya: “Last night, I watched Walong Libong Piso, a one-man play written and directed by Dante Balboa, staged by Bentria Productions at Teatrino, Promenade.
“I came to support Dante, not knowing what the story was about. Even before the show started, a few people approached me at the venue, saying things like, ‘So you’re the manager?’ or ‘You’re the character in the play.’ I didn’t understand what they meant — until the performance began.
“The play was bold, intense, and imaginative — clearly drawn from both real and fictional elements of Dante’s life. As a fellow artist, I respect his use of the stage as a personal canvas.
“However, I feel the need to clarify something important.
“The character of the manager — a loud, flamboyant figure portrayed as the one who discovered and shaped Dante — does not represent me.
“Yes, I discovered Dante Balboa. But the way I supported and guided his early career was far from how that character was depicted. That portrayal was fiction — perhaps exaggerated for dramatic effect — but not rooted in truth.
“This is not about discrediting the work. It’s about drawing a respectful line between storytelling and real history. Artists have the freedom to tell their stories. But audiences also deserve clarity when fact and fiction begin to blur.
“Out of respect for the performance, I remained silent. But I believe it’s only right to say: the manager in Walong Libong Piso is not me.
“As artists, we are free to tell stories. But when those stories begin to blur with real lives, clarity becomes essential.
“Lastly, I acknowledge Paolo Gumabao, who took on the demanding task of delivering a one-man play. That’s never easy — and he gave it his all.”

GORGY RULA
Apat na characterization ni Dante Balboa ang tampok sa one-character play na Walong Libong Piso.
Kani-kanya ng atake sa role sina Paolo Gumabao, Jhon Mark Marcia, Drei Arias, at Juan Paulo Calma.
Theater debut ito nina Paolo, Jhon Mark, at Juan Paulo, samantalang marami nang theater productions na nakasama si Drei.
Sa pelikula ay hanggang butt exposure lang si Dante Balboa. Pero sa pagbisita niya sa mahigit isang libong waterfalls nationwide, ilang beses siyang nakunan na naka-display ang private part.

Pawang nag-frontal nudity sa pelikula sina Paolo (Lockdown), Jhon Mark (Sisid Marino), Drei (Don Filipo, Bingwit, Baka Sakali), at Juan Paulo (La Traidora, Ang Bangkay, Buskay).
Dito sa Walong Libong Piso, least daring si Drei.
Inaasahang kakabugin ni Juan Paulo ang “noteworthy” scene ni Jhon Mark sa macho dancing scene.
Parehong member ng Magicvoyz sina Jhon Mark at Juan Paulo.
ANINO SA LIKOD NG BUWAN RERUN
Before Walong Libong Piso, ilan sa stage plays na may male frontal nudity this year ay Anino sa Likod ng Buwan (Ross Pesigan, Martin del Rosario), 3 Men On An 1sland (VR Relosa, Fidel Redado), at Moment to Moment (Awin Valencia, James Ramada).
So far, ang pinakamapangahas sa kanila ay si Ross Pesigan.
May rerun ang Anino sa Likod ng Buwan sa Oktubre 17 hanggang Nobyembre 9 sa PETA Theater Center, New Manila, Quezon City.
Sina Fidel, Awin, at James ay kasama sa Bonifacio, Ang Supremo: Isang Musikal na nag-grand premiere noong Agosto 2, Sabado ng 4:00 P.M., sa St. Scholastica College Theater, Leon Guinto St., Ermita, Manila.
Itatanghal ito sa iba’t ibang rehiyon hanggang Abril 2026.
Handang mag-frontal si VR sa isa pang mapangahas na dula kung saan punong-abala si Direk Roman Perez Jr.
Ready raw na maging alternate dito ni VR si Vance Larena, na nag-frontal na before sa dulang Dilaw o Pula (2018).
Ikinakasa na ni Direk Joel Lamangan ang isang dula na inspired ng pelikulang Scorpio Nights (1985) kung saan nag-frontal ang tatlong bida na sina Anna Marie Gutierrez, Orestes Ojeda, at Daniel Fernando.
Unwanted ang working title nito.
Kuwento ito ng isang bored housewife, na ang mister ay fireman. Isang lalaki ang aaliw kay misis.
Kailangan daw marunong kumanta ang tatlong artista sa dulang ito.
