MOVIES SHOWING IN GHOST MONTH
Ngayong 2025, nag-umpisa ang Ghost Month noong Agosto 23, Sabado. Magtatapos ito sa Setyembre 21.
Dalawang pelikulang Pinoy ang opening today, August 27, Wednesday, sa local cinemas.
Ang mga ito ang mga pelikulang walang keber sa Ghost Month.
Una, ang Outside de Familia na bida sina Sheila Francisco at Ruby Ruiz, sa direksiyon ni Joven Tan.
Kasama sa cast ng Outside de Familia sina Gelli de Belen, Luis Alandy, Matet de Leon, Rey “PJ” Abellana, Peewee O’Hara, at Dwayne Garcia.
Ikalawa, ang Some Nights I Feel Like Walking nina Miguel Odron at Jomari Angeles, sa direksiyon ni Petersen Vargas.
Nasa cast din ng Some Nights I Feel Like Walking sina Tommy Alejandrino, Argel Saycon, at Gold Aceron.
Isa ito sa pitong pelikulang na-shortlist ng Film Academy of the Philippines (FAP) para ilaban ng bansa sa kategoryang Best International Feature ng 98th Academy Awards o Oscars.
Ang anim pang pinagpipilian ng FAP ay Magellan, Sunshine, Food Delivery, Hello, Love, Again, Green Bones, at Song of the Fireflies.

Nakapuwesto sa September 10 playdate ang pelikulang 100 Awit Para kay Stella nina Bela Padilla, JC Santos, at Kyle Echarri, sa panulat at direksyon ni Jason Paul Laxamana.
Setyembre 24 — hindi na sakop ng Ghost Month — ang napabalitang playdate ng pelikulang Minamahal: 100 Bulaklak Para Kay Luna, na si Jason Paul Laxamana rin ang sumulat at nagdirek.
Malalaman sa Minamahal kung mahal ba ng moviegoers ang tambalan nina Andres Muhlach at Ashtine Olviga.

Ipinagdiriwang tuwing Setyembre ang Philippine Film Industry Month (PFIM).
Punong-abala rito ang Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP), na ang chairman ay ang multi-awarded writer-director na si Jose Javier Reyes, na mas gustong tawagin siyang Direk Joey kesa sa Chair Joey.
“Pelikula at Pilipina” ang tema ng PFIM 2025. Sakop ng Ghost Month ang opening ceremony ng PFIM 2025 sa Setyembre 1, Lunes, sa Red Carpet Cinema 1 ng Shangri-La Plaza, EDSA cor. Shaw Blvd., Mandaluyong City.

Ang PFIM Gala Night ay gaganapin sa Setyembre 11, Huwebes, sa Seda Vertis North, Quezon City.
Doon ia-announce ni FAP Director General Paolo Villaluna kung anong pelikula ang ipapadala natin para sa Best International Feature ng 98th Oscars.
Pararangalan sa PFIM Gala Night sina Lee Briones-Meily, Raquel Villavicencio, Gina Alajar, Olivia Lamasan, at Malou Santos.
Ang programa ay iho-host ni Yanah Laurel, at performers doon sina Kuh Ledesma, Bituin Escalante, Lara Maigue, Zephanie, at 92AD.

7TH SINAG MAYNILA
Lampas na ang Ghost Month sa pagsisimula ng 7th Sinag Maynila independent film festival.
Hanggang Setyembre 30 ang Sinag Maynila 2025 kung saan punong-abala sina Sir Wilson Tieng at Direk Brillante Mendoza.
Tampok dito ang limang full length films, 14 documentaries, at 41 short films.
Ang limang full-length films sa Sinag Maynila 2025 ay ang mga sumusunod:

QUEZON TO OPEN CINEMALAYA 2025?
Samantala, sa Oktubre 3-12 ang Cinemalaya 2025 indie filmfest sa Shangri-La Plaza Cinemas.
Balitang ang opening film dito ay ang historical film na Quezon, na bida si Jericho Rosales, sa direksyon ni Jerrold Tarog.
Sa Oktubre 15 ipapalabas sa local cinemas ang Quezon, kung saan kasama sa cast sina Karylle, Iain Glen, Benjamin Alves, Mon Confiado, Arron Villaflor, Nico Locco, Jake Macapagal, Cris Villanueva, Romnick Sarmenta, Bodjie Pascua, Angeli Bayani, Joross Gamboa, Jojit Lorenzo, Therese Malvar, Ketchup Eusebio, at Ana Abad Santos.

Pinalaki ang grants para sa 3rd Cine Panalo Film Festival (CPFF) ng Puregold, at mas matagal na ang paghahanda para rito.
PHP5M na ang grant for each of the seven full-length film directors, samantalang PhP200,000 ang nakalaan sa bawa’t isa sa 20 student filmmakers.
Bale PHP39M ang kabuuang grant!
Gaganapin ang 3rd Puregold CPFF ay sa Agosto 7-18, 2026 sa Gateway Cineplex 18, Cubao, Quezon City.
Hindi na iyon sakop ng Ghost Month next year, na papatak sa Agosto 25, 2026 hanggang Setyembre 24.
CINE PANALO FILM FESTIVAL
The full-length film category is open to all professional and amateur filmmakers aged 18 years old and up.
Applications for the full-length category must be submitted before 11:59 PM on September 10, 2025.
A shortlist of 30 selected applicants will be announced on October 1, 2025, all of whom must submit an initial pitch deck by October 8.
On October 15, fifteen applicants will be selected to make their pitch to the festival organizers from October 22 to 23.
The final seven recipients of the production grants will be revealed on October 25, 2025.
Meanwhile, applications for the student short film category will close by 11:59 P.M. on November 25, 2025.
Applicants must be at least 15 years of age and must be enrolled students at the time of the festival run in August 2026.
Applicants will be required to submit a certificate of enrollment for SY 2025-2026.
The final lineup of selected student filmmakers will be announced on February 1, 2026.

“By providing more funds, we may now challenge our filmmakers to break every boundary of narrative, style, and genre.
“All narrative and genre restrictions are being lifted. Craft and excellence will be the new focal point of the festival.
“Puregold CinePanalo is thus encouraging participants to explore a wider range of stories and styles for their entries — from cerebral thrillers to whimsical young romances to more complex stories with intricate plot turns.”
