Netflix Updates: Seklusyon, KPop Demon Hunters reach new heights

Nanguna ang horror movie na Seklusyon sa talaan ng Top 10 Movies ng Netflix Philippines noong Agosto 29, 2025, Biyernes.

Nakawalong award ito sa Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) 2016, kabilang ang best director (Erik Matti), best supporting actress (Phoebe Walker), best screenplay (Anton Santamaria), at special Jury prize (Rhed Bustamante).

Bukod kina Rhed at Phoebe, nasa cast ng Seklusyon sina Ronnie Alonte, Dominic Roque, Neil Ryan Sese, Lou Veloso, Elora Españo, John Vic Guzman, at JR Versales.

Bahagi ng Facebook post ni Direk Erik Matti today kaugnay sa Seklusyon: “We did two versions when we screened this in the MMFF back then. The full R-16 director’s cut shown in limited venues and an R-13 version to show in cinemas nationwide so we can have families enjoy the movie as well.

“This is the R-16 cut as I originally intended.

“The filming of this movie just went by in a blur. I went into production with a script written by Anton that I still wasnt sure whether the film should flow exactly that or that it says what I intended to say for this horror movie.

“So everyday was hell because I would rewrite scenes and write the dialogues along with my AD’s who know tagalog better.

“This film serves as a marker of my thoughts and feelings on the socio-political climate during that time. I smuggled my personal insights in a horror movie.

“I’m glad this film was successful. Made money at the box office and sparked some passionate debates online when we showed it. “I’m inviting you all to see our small film with a big voice.”

Dalawa pang pelikulang Pinoy ang nasa Top 10 Movies list ng Netflix PH today, ang One Hit Wonder at The Last Goodbye.

Nag-peak sa second place ang One Hit Wonder for three days, mula Agosto 25, Lunes hanggang Agosto 27, Miyerkules.

KPOP DEMON HUNTERS SING ALONG MOVIE

Ipinalabas ang KPop Demon Hunters Sing Along noong Agosto 23 at 24 sa mga sinehan sa US, Canada, UK, Ireland, Australia, at New Zealand.

Hindi naglabas ng figure ang Netflix, pero tinatayang naka-$18M ito sa two days na showing sa 1,700 sinehan sa U.S.

Nanguna ito sa takilya ng US nitong August 22-24 weekend!

Ito ang unang Netflix film na nag-No. 1 sa U.S. Kinabog nito ang record ng Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery na naka-$15M sa one-week limited theatrical release noong Nobyembre 2022.
