Nakasentro ang kuwento ng pelikulang Manila’s Finest sa grupo ng mga pulis sa Maynila noong 1969.
Police drama ito na may action scenes, at bida rito sina Piolo Pascual at Enrique Gil, sa direksiyon ni Raymond Red.
Nasa cast din ng Manila’s Finest sina Cedrick Juan, Romnick Sarmenta, Ariel Rivera, Joey Marquez, Rico Blanco, Rica Peralejo-Bonifacio, Jasmine Curtis-Smith, Kiko Estrada, Paulo Angeles, Ashtine Olviga, Ethan David, Dylan Menor, Inday Fatima, at Pearl Gonzales.

PHILIPPINE CONSTABULARY
“During pre-martial law, I think lahat naman tayo, or most of us alam natin yung Philippine Constabulary,” lahad ni Cedrick nang makatsikahan ng PEP Troika sa MMFF 2025 Celebrity Golf Tournament noong Disyembre 9, 2025, Martes, sa Wack Wack Golf & Country Club, Shaw Blvd., Mandaluyong City.
“And nag-start yung Philippine Constabulary during the American Occupation hanggang sa tumawid siya with our own republic government.
“Para siyang transition of… parang military police. Tapos ang Manila’s Finest, ang power niya and juridistion niya, within Metro Manila lang.
“And eventually parang iyon na rin ang nangyari kung paano nagkaroon tayo ng Philippine National Police nowadays.
“So ang Philippine Constabulary, nandoon ako, ako yung somehow representative ng Philippine Constabulary sa film.
“Ang Philippine Constabulary kasi, directly answering and taking orders from Malacañang.
“So, alam natin na may iba silang order compared to other policemen. So… sabihin nating suggested na antagonist siya.”
Ano ang kabuluhan ng period film na Manila’s Finest sa mga nangyayari sa ating bansa? Sinasalamin ba ng pelikula ang mga kaganapan ngayon sa ating lipunan?
Mabilis na tugon ni Cedrick: “Oo naman. Oo naman. I think kabilaan ngayong yung mga nangyayari na mga rallies, di ba?
“Kasi we really want accountability sa government natin, lalo na kabilaan ang corruption.
“At hindi pa rin nahuhuli yung mga dapat mahuli, at makulong ang mga dapat makulong.
“So even before, parang nandoon yung panawagan nating mga Pilipino lagi na accountability sa mga taong namumuno sa atin.
“Na yung relevance niya ay… yung mga rallies ay hindi nandiyan para lang manggulo or mag-ingay, or para lang magkaroon ng political unrest.
“I think it’s really more of having a fair and productive government for all of us, especially sa mga taong greatly affected talaga ng corruption.”

Naka-bonding ba ni Cedrick Juan ang co-stars niya sa Manila’s Finest?
“Oo naman, parang lagi namang may ganyan… kina PJ [Piolo Pascual], it’s our third time na with MMFF,” saad ni Cedrick.
“Tapos si Enrique [Gil] was my ano, parang first time ko siyang nakatrabaho ngayon.”
May special participation si Piolo sa MMFF 2023 entry na GomBurZa, na pinagbidahan ni Cedrick.
May cameo si Cedrick sa MMFF 2024 entry nina Piolo at Vic Sotto na The Kingdom.
Sa Manila’s Finest ay mistulang may rivalry ang characters nina Cedrick at Piolo.
“Most of the time talaga ang eksena ko ay with PJ. Talagang parang mental war siya, internal war yung sa amin,” dagdag ni Cedrick.
“And I think from my mentor sa GomBurZa, then childhood trauma sa The Kingdom, at ngayon, rival — medyo na-set na namin yung layering ng friendship namin na naitatawid namin sa pelikula.”

CEDRICK JUAN ON FATHERHOOD
At least, every year ay may pelikula siya sa MMFF.
Napangiti si Cedrick, “Super-happy na marami pa ring naniniwala sa kaya ko pong ibigay sa pelikula natin.”
Mapili ba siya sa role at project?
“I think sa ngayon, present time, ang mas kino-consider ko siyempre, balance,” sambit ni Cedrick.
“Nandiyan yung family life. Since first time kong maging tatay, I really want to be hands on with my kid and also to help my wife [Kate Alejandrino].
“Parang I think yung slowing down na ibinigay sa akin for this year, it’s really more on spending time with them.
“And for me, there’s nothing wrong with that. Kasi for sure nire-ready ako ni universe at ni God for something much more bigger sa kung ano man meron ako ngayon.
“And I’m happy kasi talagang nung nabalitaan ko na magiging tatay na ako, talagang sabi ko sa sarili ko, gusto kong maging hands on.
“Kung ano man iyong mga sana na nagawa rin sa akin ng father ko, siyempre ganun naman, e. You really want to be a better version of someone. So ayun.”
May mga isu-shoot na bagong projects ang wife niyang si Kate sa first quarter ng 2026. Paano ang pag-aalaga sa kanilang baby?
“Well, lagi namang give-and-take… so I think very important talaga iyong support ng husband,” sabi ni Cedrick.
“Kasi nga, postpartum din talaga yan, e. Lalo na ngayon, magsi-six months na ang baby namin.
“So from time to time, if we need help, punta kami sa mom niya or sa family ko. Pero pag kaya, kami lang.
“Pero kumukuha kami ng helper din namin. And I think ang very important din diyan is to really understand each other’s situation.
“Alam niya na busy rin ako sa work, pero alam ko din na kailangan niya ng helping hand.
“Every time na meron akong free time, ibinibigay ko talaga sa kanila.”
