First movie ni Catriona Gray ang The Loved One kung saan bida sina Jericho Rosales at Anne Curtis, sa direksiyon ni Irene Emma Villamor.
“First talaga,” sambit ni Miss Universe 2018 sa mediacon ng National Arts Month (NAM) 2026 noong Enero 20, 2026, Martes, sa Centro de Turismo Intramuros, Manila.
“Siguro hinihintay lang namin ang perfect timing and yung tamang project.
“And how can I say ‘no’ with an incredible director, Direk Irene, and also an incredible cast.
“So to even be considered for that participation in that film, I was really kilig but also pressured pa!
“Pressure ba ang tamang tawag na I really want to do a good job. Ayoko akong maging weakest link in the film.
“But I was really so supported on the whole process. I did workshops for it.
“So, very out of the comfort zone para sa akin but I’m very excited for people to see the film The Loved One. It’s coming out February 11.”
Nakadalawa o tatlong acting workshop daw si Cat para sa first movie niya.
Puwede na ba niyang i-reveal kung ano ang role niya sa film?
“I don’t think I can ispluk muna!” bulalas ni Cat.

CATRIONA GRAY'S FIRST DAY AS AN ACTRESS
Kumusta ang first day niya sa set ng pelikula?
“I was so nervous talaga. Kasi talagang new arena for me ba. And I’ve never been able to see the behind the scenes of how a film is made,” pagsisiwalat ni Cat.
“So, talagang in-observe ko lahat, like how they do the blocking, how they prep the actors.
“And I was really asking so many questions kasi very cool yung experience. So I just wanted to learn.”
Kumusta sina Anne at Jericho?
“They were so fantastic. Siyempre I see Anne a lot sa mga events namin. And Echo naman, I’m not really familiar with him masyado,” tugon ni Catriona.
“We’ve run into each other, the few events. But they were both so kind. And they’re really kind of paced me through it siguro which I really admire coz they don’t need to do that.
“So siguro that speaks volumes about their character, ano, also as actors.”

Masusundan kaya ang The Loved One ng isa pang movie ngayong 2026?
“Siguro open talaga ako kung tamang project. Let’s see, let’s see. Sana, yung reception sa film na ito…” sabi ni Catriona Gray.
Ano ba ang tamang project para sa kanya? Anong istorya o genre ang gusto niyang gawin?
Natigilan sandali si Cat bago sumagot: “Siguro, yung mga istorya… must speak to me ba, siguro it just has to align with me as a creative also.
“Like, it has to be the right story, the right direction. I think I really admire the whole creative process... so let’s see.”
OK sa kanyang gumawa ng horror movie?
“Huwag naman sanang horror, kasi I’m so… in really life, I’m a scaredy-cat one hundred percent!” natatawang sambit ni Cat.
“So, huwag na lang horror, please!”
IS CATRIONA ALSO OPEN TO DOING A TV SERIES?
Si Catriona ay Arts Ambassador ng National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) mula pa noong 2020.
Swak sa National Arts Month (NAM) sa Pebrero ang pagpapalabas ng Valentine movie na The Loved One.
Napangiti si Cat, “Yes, tamang-tamang Valentine film siya, Love Month film. Lahat ng emotions, nandoon sa pelikulang yun.”
Noon pa man ay may mga offer na kay Catriona na lumabas sa TV drama series. After her film debut, sasabak na rin ba siya sa pag-arte sa telebisyon?
“Let’s see, let’s see,” pakli ni Cat.
Sinong aktres ang ina-admire niya?
“Ay! Julia Montes. I think she’s incredible… and she’s so sweet in person,” sabi ni Cat.
“So I just really admire how she can shift, you know.”

Ano pa ang mae-expect kay Catriona Gray ngayong 2026?
“More music this year talaga. Kicking up from 'Every Christmas' that I released last December,” sey ni Cat.
“Actively writing music. So, I hope to see a full body of work come out this year.”
Malamang na EP na may lima o anim na kanta ang i-release ni Cat.
Dagdag ni Catriona: “I’m collaborating with a lot of different people. So some of them are joint concepts. Some of them are my own.
“Some of them are reminiscent of my journey on adulthood… life experience, ahhmm even like looking at my younger self, and like who I am now.
“So it’s a little bit more introspective. I’m not attacking my music in a way that I want it to be number one.
“I really just wanna create a body of art.”
NATIONAL ARTS MONTH 2026
Na-flatter nga raw nang lubos si Cat na nasa NCCA pa rin siya bilang Ambassador for the Arts.
“I get to be surrounded by incredible talented artists, and it really inspires to be in that company,” pakli ni Cat.
Siyangapala, ang tema ng NAM 2026 ay “Ani ng Sining: Katotohanan at Giting.”
Ang official opening ay sa Pebrero 1 sa Luneta Park, kung saan may Parada ng mga Sining at libreng palabas na mag-showcase ng creativity at costume sa pitong art forms — Architecture and Allied Arts, Cinema, Dance, Dramatic Arts, Literary Arts, Music, at Visual Arts.
Ang NAM 2026 Visayas ay sa Pebrero 18 sa Palo, Leyte.
Ang subtheme dito ay “Pag-uswag han Tawo ngan Kalibungan” (Climate Justice).
Ang NAM 2026 Luzon ay sa Pebrero 20, at 24-26 sa Los Baños, Laguna, katuwang ang ARTIST, Inc., UPLB Office of Initiatives for Culture and the Arts, at LGU ng Los Baños.
Ang NAM 2026 Mindanao ay dalawa ang venue.
Una, sa Butuan City na ang subtheme ay “Lawig Mindanaw: Kalinaw ug Kahigayunan” (Peace and Access).
At ikalawa, sa Davao City na ang subtheme ay “Ang Yuta, ang Tawo ug ang Kalinaw” (Ang Bayan, ang Tao, at ang Kapayapaan).
To further extend and keep the spirit of NAM 2026, the NCCA introduces ART FriDates, a weekly platform for artists and cultural workers to showcase their creativity through performances and workshops.
Artists from all seven (7) art forms are invited to participate, highlighting the diversity of artistic expression across the country.
ART FriDates will take place on Fridays of February 2026 at the Blackbox Theater, Likhang Pilipino Complex, CITEM, World Trade Center, Pasay.
Local and provincial government units — Angono, Rizal on February 6, Province of Bulacan on February 13, Biñan, Laguna on February 20, Quezon Province on February 27, and City of Muntinlupa on March 6 — will join, presenting the unique talents of their communities and promoting the richness of Philippine arts and culture.
Admission is free, with open house starting at 2:00 PM, and performances at 4:00 PM.
Sa mediacon ay ipinagkaloob nina NCCA Chairman and Executive Director Eric B. Zerrudo at Commissioner Lordinio A. Vergara ang isang painting kay Catriona.
Ang painting ay gawa ni Ebok Pinpino ng Angono.
Present sa mediacon si Angono Mayor Gerry Calderon.
Panelist din sa mediacon si Intramuros Administrator Atty. Joan Padilla.
Kabilang sa performers sina Phi Palmos, Las Cuerdas de Angono Rondalla, Adamson University Chorale, at singer-flutist na si Gretta Campo.
