Kinumusta ng PEP Troika kay GMA Pictures producer Nessa Valdellon ang documentary na Lost Sabungeros.
Any update?
“Ang ganda na ng recut niya!” bulalas ni Miss Nessa sa ng Biyaheng Oscars: The Pinoy Oscars Pursuit noong Hunyo 18, 2026, Huwebes, sa Seda Vertis North, Quezon City.
“Because we did a complete... nung lumabasiyung whistleblower, tapos nung hinahabol na si Atong Ang.
“We did a re-edit, a rewrite. It’s a much better film now.”
LOST SABUNGEROS's new title
“Because no one wants to screen it here dahil wala pa rin kaming MTRCB… huwag na nating palakihin, kasi mainit ang ulo nila sa akin. Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha!”
Kasi, may kaso.
“Oo. Kasi there’s an actual life case because si Atong Ang na.”

Kumusta ang relationship niya with MTRCB ngayon?
“OK naman sila. They’re giving good ratings to our films and our series,” napangiting tugon ni Miss Nessa.
“May upcoming kami, Caprice, coming on Monday.”
Ang tinutukoy ni Miss Nessa ay ang Kapuso afternoon drama series na You’re My Favorite Song kung saan bida si Caprice Cayetano, kasama sina Heath Jornales, Marco Masa, at Clifford.

May plano na bang mag-streaming ang No One Came Back (formerly known as Lost Sabungeros)?
“We will try again sa streaming. They’re being very careful about political features.
Kasi baka may magreklamo from the home country.
“Pero maganda siya. And it’s a better form now than it was when we screened in QCinema.”
“Marami pang schools na naka-line up.
“They’re so touched. Tapos yung mga iniwang family nung lost sabungeros, they attend as often as they can,” lahad ni Miss Nessa.
“Tapos nag-iiyakan silang lahat kasama nung mga estudyante. Sobrang touching.”

Naka-focus ngayon ang GMA News and Public Affairs sa digital.
“So many of our parang iyong operations namin, parang we’re really pushing for digital exclusives na mga investigative reports na nasa digital,” lahad ni Nessa Valdellon.
“Kasi TV is no longer in its heyday.”
ELLA ARCANGEL
Sa GMA Pictures, kumusta naman?
“Meron kaming sobrang gandang animation! We have an animated feature, full animation ito, Ella Arcangel,” sagot ni Miss Nessa.
“It’s based on a comic book. Ang nakuha na naming voice is Bianca Umali and then meron kaming very, very special voice na hindi pa puwedeng i-announce.
“Ang nagdirek ng Ella Arcangel ay si Mervin Malonzo. He’s a director for animation for commercials.
And it’s really something we’re going to do festival round for next year.”

Plano nilang i-submit for the Oscars?
“Baka next year na lang for Ella. But for this year, we’re considering whether we’re going to enter in animation or in documentary,” hinay-hinay na saad ni Miss Nessa.
“Because it’s both. E, sobrang mahal ng animation fee. Around ten thousand dollars, so lalabas siya parang PHP600,000.
“So, parang siguro isang category lang i-enter namin. Likely documentary, yung 58th nga.
“Andami niyang archival footage from programs of 2009.
Recipient ang 58th ng Pinoy Oscars Pursuit (POP) grant ng Film Academy of the Philippines (FAP) matapos itong makapasok sa Annecy International Animation Film Festival and Doc Edge, an Academy Award-qualifying festival for documentaries.
