JERRY OLEA
DREAM WEDDING

Take note, Will Ashley!
Sabi naman ni Mikee: “Ako, same, e. Parang I think, my dream would be a destination also. But my real reason, I think, would be… to keep it intimate din.
“I’ve always wanted something simple… kasi pinagdadasal ko naman, asawa muna bago ikasal, di ba?!
“So, pag dumating yun! Sana, gusto niya yung simple lang. Coz I believe na if you keep things private, mas mapapahalagahan. Yes, yon.”
Ha! Ha! Ha! Ahhmm siguro ano lang po, I come from a very big family, and being around the people I love talaga…
“I just want all my loved ones to be there from Canada, from here, all the families that I’ve grown into, but siguro, as long as it’s a good husband, a good guy... and my family is there, I’m good.
“Basta puwede akong sumayaw, good music, good food. Masaya na po ako dun. I’m not that far into my life yet.”
I wanna get married in Vegas. In Vera Wang.

DIVORCE NOT ALLOWED IN THE PHILIPPINES
Joji sa kanyang Facebook post: “Sadly Barbie Forteza, If you marry (even in Vegas) a fellow Filipino citizen who remains Filipino all throughout your marriage, any divorce you obtain is not going to be recognized under Philippine law.
“Your marriage continues to subsist due to what is known as the ‘nationality’ principle.
“Your nationality follows you wherever you are. And since divorce is not recognized under Philippine law, you remain married to him.
“It would be different IF you married a foreign national and your husband divorced you.
“That divorce may be recognized under Philippine law since it would be sheer absurdity for you to continue being married to a foreigner who is no longer married to you.”

Joji: “Once the foreigner is granted the divorce, the Filipino spouse may now proceed to have it recognized by the courts here.
“Yan ang change sa batas with the family code.
“Dati nga walang recognition na ganyan. Kaya ang lala ng situation that the spouse is married to a husband who is no longer married to her.”
