“Hubo’t Hubad” ang tema ng Virgin Lab Fest (VLF) XXI noong Hunyo 3-28, 2026 sa Tanghalang Ignacio Gimenez o CCP Black Box Theater sa CCP Complex, Pasay City, kung saan figurative ang pagtatalop ng mga karakter sa labinlimang (15) one-act plays.
Walang literal na nagtanggal ng saplot sa katawang lupa.
Pero sa 90-minute queer ensemble play na Last Dance: Hubo’t Hubad na nag-preview kahapon sa Halxyon Club, 2F A. M. Flores Bldg., Gen. Luna St. cor. Mariano St., Brgy. Poblacion, Makati City, nag-"hello" ang private part ni Robbie “Rob” Padilla na isa sa limang pangunahing karakter.
ROBBIE PADILLA ON GOING FULL FRONTAL
Bilang modelo at photographer ay sanay na sa hubaran si Robbie. Pero first time niyang ginawa sa entablado na ipakita ang lahat-lahat.
Hindi na na-conscious si Robbie sa preview. Pero siyempre, iba yung paghuhubad sa photo session kumpara sa dula.
“Yung story po kasi, pag sa photo, medyo conceptual pag sa photos. Pero pag sa stage, kailangan parang akma pa rin siya sa story,” pagmamatwid ni Robbie.
“Ahhmm nung nalaman ko po na maghuhubad, magko-completely nude on stage, yun nga, iba po siya sa photography.
“Kasi all the time na nakasalang, hindi mo siya puwedeng isang klik lang, you look for one good click, tapos okay na.
“Sa stage, lahat po kami, we really got ready for this, since we started this. Lahat kami, puspusan yung getting in shape.
“Para po yung aspect na getting nude on stage, I think po, parang natural lang siya… when you’re trying to parang figure out how it fits into the story.
“And sa akin naman po, maganda yung story. Maganda po yung concept. Parang natural lang in a dressing room, mga lalaki, naghuhubad.
“So, parang iyon yung kung sa picture, iyon yung concept, naghuhubad sa dressing room.
"Dito naman po sa live, may action at saka medyo mas careful.”
Gumanap si Robbie bilang legendary macho dancer na si Rafa.

NUDE SCENES GALORE
Pwetmalu sa preview sina John Segui na gumanap bilang Dodong, at Kriszan Manipon na gumanap bilang dating pulis na si Marl.
Sa eksenang nagbibihis, nagtapos ng tuwalya si Paolo Domingo na gumanap bilang baguhang macho dancer na si Jay, at si Gerald Magallanes na gumanap bilang palaban at matapang na si Ace.
Ang sabi nina John at Paolo nang makatsikahan ng PEP Troika matapos ang performance, kaya nilangmag-frontal budity.
Si Gerald, lubhang mapangahas nang mapanood namin sa TDR ng dulang Ang Bangkay noong Hunyo 25, 2026 sa PhilStagers BlackBox Theater, Balic-balic, Sampaloc, Manila.

FRONTAL NUDITY ON STAGE
Kabilang sa nanood sa preview ang kaibigang Dante Balboa, na nagsulat at nagdirek ng psychological play na Walong Libong Piso na itinanghal last year sa Teatrino, Greenhills, San Juan City.
Sa nasabing palabas ay nagkabardagulan sa pagdi-display ng private part ang VMX actors na sina Jhon Mark Marcia at Juan Paulo Calma.
Nabosohan din daw si Paolo Gumabao.

Sa three-act play na Ang Baklang Nangarap Maging Ricky Lee na itinanghal din last year sa Teatrino, bigay na bigay si Mark Monares sa pagpo-frontal.

Sa Anino sa Likod ng Buwan last year sa PETA Theater Center, memorable din ang pagpo-frontal ni Ross Pesigan, samantalang si Martin del Rosario ay may mga pasilip din.

Mabangis din ang mga pagtatanghal ng PhilStagers Black Box sa dulang 3 Men On An Island, kung saan nagpauga to the max ang VMX actor na si VR Relosa.
Sa Moment to Moment last year ay nagpakitang-gilas sina Awin Valencia at James Ramada.
Andiyan din si Drei Arias sa dulang Reverse Card noong nakaraang Mayo-Hunyo sa Illumination Studio, Makati City.
Ang premiere ng Last Dance: Hubo’t Hubad ay ngayong Setyembre 29, Martes ng 7:30 pm doon sa Halxyon Club.
May mga pagtatanghal pa ito roon sa Oktubre 1, 6, 8, 13, 15, 20, 22, 27, at 29.

WHO IS JOJO URQUICO?
Writer-director Jojo Urquico is a multi-talented German-Filipino actor, singer, director, and artistic leader whose career has taken him across Europe and Asia.
Gumanap siyang Thuy sa Miss Saigon, Angel sa Rent, Tybalt sa Romeo & Juliet, at Tamino sa Die Zauberflöte.
He has built a diverse career defined by versatility, passion, and a deep commitment to the performing arts.
His journey has brought him to renowned stages and cultural institutions, including the Göteborg Opera and Staatsoper Stuttgart, as well as appearances connected to the Berlin International Film Festival.
Since 2017, Jojo has served as Artistic Director of World Theater Productions, bringing together artists and performers from different parts of the world to create theatrical experiences for audiences on Guam.

“I think, telling a story could also be anywhere. It could be in a bar… kaya dito ko siya ginawa, para mas maging authentic iyung feel.
“Para siyang immersive kaya ko siya inumpisahan sa performance ng drag. Pero yeah, I think if we could start doing it, like this, bringing theater everywhere, sa lahat ng espasyo — bakit hindi? Di ba?”

Tumango si Jojo Urquico, “Kaya lang kasi, yun ang inaabangan ng audience. Yung ine-expect nila because…”
ON RELEVANCE OF SKIN EXPOSURE
Nakaka-distract ba sa story kung masyado ang skin exposure?
“Well, kasi ayoko naman na pinuntahan yung show dahil may maghuhubad. Kasi what I wanted to show is not their private parts but their soul, their fears, their dreams,” saad ni Jojo.
“Kung ano ang nagdala sa kanila sa mundong ito. Di ba? Yun ang gusto kong makita.
"Pero… ang tanong ko, do you think madi-disappoint ang mga tao kung wala masyadong nakitang private parts?”
Of course!
Considering na walang kiyeme sa stage plays sina Ross Pesigan, Martin del Rosario, VR Relosa, Jhon Mark Marcia, Juan Paulo Calma, Mark Monares, Vince Tañada, Johnrey Rivas, Drei Arias, Awin Valencia, James Ramada, at iba pa.
“Really? OK… iun nga ang sinasabi ko, e, how far they’re willing to go,” sambit ni Jojo.
“But now that you guys mentioned it, I think, kasi noong una, kanina pinapanood ko, sabi ko, ‘OK, medyo…’
“Kaya ito nanganak, e. Kaya yung isa, I asked for his help, kasi yung lengguwahe na nagamit ko dito, parang masyado pang sterile. Parang sanitized pa.
“Which is why I asked for his help. Pero ngayon, I think we could go even dirtier with the words still, and yeah, perhaps, eksena, puwede pa nating patagalin.
“Sige, ayan ang gagawin natin. Ngayon, may razon kayong bumalik. Para titingnan nyo kung paano na-develop. That’s a good suggestion.
“Now I know what the audience and what the public want to see… That’s something we could consider.
“Kaya kailangan natin ng press preview. Sa inyo manggagaling ang feedback na ganyan, para alam namin kung paano pa ang gagawin. It’s good.
“Like, you know, we welcome that.”
