Limang pelikula ang opening today, September 30, 2026, sa local cinemas nationwide.
Ayon sa Facebook post ng Cinema Exhibitors Association of the Philippines (CEAP), ang mga ito ay ang Always Yours, Never Mine (PG), Verity (R-16), My Mother's Eyes (R-16) na exclusive sa Megaworld Cinemas; at ang exclusive naman sa SM Cinema na Primetime (R-16) at Chiikawa The Movie: The Secret of the Mermaid Island (PG).
Yung Digger (R-13) ay sa Oktubre 2, Biyernes, pa ang opening day.
At yung Linkin Park: Unshatter (PG) na exclusive din sa SM Cinema ay sa Oktubre 3, Sabado, pa mapapanood.
Pahayag ni MTRCB CEO at Chair Lala Sotto, maraming mapagpipilian ang mga manonood, laluna at Parental Guidance (PG), R-13 and R-16 ang ibinigay nilang rating sa mga sineng ito.
“Tandaan natin na mahalagang tiyakin na ang rating ng pelikula na gusto panoorin ay angkop sa edad at antas ng pag-intindi ng ating mga anak. Ito ay para mas magabayan natin sila nang maayos sa kanilang panonood,” sabi ni Chair Lala.
“Masaya rin kami na ipapalabas ang isang gawang-Pinoy na sine ngayong linggo. “Inaanyayahan namin ang ating mga kababayan na tangkilikin ang sariling atin at suportahan ang pelikulang Pilipino.”
ALWAYS YOURS, NEVER MINE
Sa pitong pelikulang iyan ay isa lamang ang gawang-Pinoy, yung Always Yours, Never Mine nina Joshua Garcia at Julia Barretto na showing sa 210 cinemas.

Hanggang Oktubre 4, Linggo, pa ang showing ng mga pelikula ng 3rd Puregold CinePanalo filmfest sa sa Gateway Cineplex 18, Trinoma, Fairview Terraces, Feliz, Ayala Malls Circuit, Ayala Malls Manila Bay, and Market! Market!.
Ang pitong full-length features ng CinePanalo 2026 ay Multwoh: Patay na Patay Sa ‘Yo, Patay Gutom, Stuck On You, Apol of My Ai, Wantawsan, Beast, at Mono No Aware.
Ayon sa CinePanalo festival director na si Chris Cahilig, yung kinita ng CinePanalo 2025 ay napantayan o nalagpasan na sa unang dalawang araw pa lang ng CinePanalo 2026.

Facebook post ng multi-awarded film worker na si Tara Illenberger ngayong Wednesday ng madaling-araw: “Eto na yun guys o... the world has finally acknowledged us... that we exist... as an audience, as consumers, as buyers, as a market for content, movies, sports, etc.
“They've seen us rally behind Alex Eala, elevating her to superstardom that eclipsed even the top tennis players. Even Nike spotted a powerful market there.
“They've marvelled at our response, the engagement, the support that translates to sales of arena tickets; and merchandise. Even Anna Wintour was curious enough to sit beside the Filipina.
“Many international vloggers now are baiting us, talking about us and what is ours — our food, our history, our music.
“For good of for bad, we have now become the sought-after voracious audience.
“And now narratives are tailored to attract our attention.
“Dreamworks is not indie. It is not small-time at all. It sits right up there with Disney and all things big in Hollywood. And they spent big money to tell a story about two Pinoy girls navigating a most familiar enchanted landscape that is the Forgotten Island filled with colorful iterations of monsters familiar to us: the aswang, kapre, tyanak, dwende, sigben, the batibat.
“Yes they took the liberty to embellish them but, hey, animated films are rarely big on ‘realism’ especially when it comes to mythic creatures.
“This is a first time for Hollywood, to churn out a Filipino story, to the tune of 80M dollars.
“Yes, it is not perfect. It is a hodge-podge concoction as thick and colorfully chaotic as a bowl of halo-halo. It is utterly maximalist as the decorations inside a Cubao jeepney. And they made this for us.
“As a filmmaker myself, I can almost feel the love here, in its creation. Perhaps it is high time... and well-deserved.
“After all, the animation capital that is Burbank, California has been crawling with excellent Filipino animators since the heyday of Hanna Barbera.
“Perhaps it is their homage to their homeland. The co-director/writer, Januel Mercado (of Puss In Boots, Lego Movie, Kung Fu Panda) is Pinoy and so are the many voice talents (Liza Soberano, JoKoy, Lea Salonga, Dolly de Leon). The soundtack also features music by Filipino and Fil-am artists.
"Forgotten Island didnt do too well in the US as they hoped. Pero dito sa atin, it's doing well. Sana panoorin nyo sa cinehan. We have hoped to be seen. And eto na talaga yun.”
FORGOTTEN ISLAND
Napag-alaman ng PEP Troika na umabot sa PHP100M ang kinita ng Forgotten Island sa unang limang araw nito sa takilya ng Pilipinas — mula Setyembre 23, Miyerkules, hanggang Setyembre 27, Linggo.
Bali-balita ring mahigit PHP10M ang kinita ng Forgotten Island sa local cinemas on its sixth day noong Lunes, Setyembre 28, kung saan libre ang senior citizens.
As of this writing ay 100 reviews na ang Forgotten Island sa Rotten Tomatoes, at nananatiling 95% ang score nito sa Tomatometer.
Ayon naman sa Box Office Mojo ay umabot na sa $21,473,920 ang worldwide gross nito.

Makahulugan ang recent Facebook post ni Direk Jose Javier Reyes, na chairman at CEO ng Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP).
Ewan kung kaugnay ito sa talastasan o balitaktakan sa animated film na Forgotten Island.
Ani Direk Joey: “Ang Pilipino ... kahit saan man siya naninirahan o nabubuhay ... ay may karapatan at kakayahan na maglahad ng kanyang kuwento at makibahagi ng kanyang kasaysayan.

Sa Oktubre, raratsada naman ang mga awards ceremony kaugnay sa local film industry.
