For Gary Valenciano, performing in a smaller venue offers something that a bigger concert stage cannot always provide, the chance to truly connect with his audience. During his Back at the Museum concert, Gary shares why he loves the intimacy of the Music Museum: “But it means, it means… it becomes even more memorable when I can actually see your faces.”

Walang AI (artificial intelligence) sa Back at the Museum concert series ni Gary Valenciano.

Pakiusap ni Gary V: “A couple of things. One is, please don’t be too excited a crowd because it’s gonna be… I’m going to compare you with the one on Saturday night.

“But can you imagine what it feels like for somebody like me to be back at the Music Museum?

“And you guys are here. I’ve done over a hundred shows right here in this venue. Yes, so it’s the venue that I’ve performed in the most.

“Because it’s here where I get to do… wow, almost anything I wanna do. Really. And having one show, it’s never really enough. It has to be one entire series.

“And it’s something that’s very hard to see… come to an end.”

Naku! Show No. 1 pa lang yon, huh?!

Dagdag ni Gary V: “And it’s also here that I get to do songs I haven’t done in a long, long time.”

GARY V'S REPERTOIRE

Kitang-kita at ramdam na ramdam ang husay ni Gary V sa pag-awit ng "Spain (I Can Recall)."

Unang narinig iyon sa 1980 album ni Al Jarreau na This Time, at malaking hamon sa mga mang-aawit na kantahin iyon.

Thursdays at Saturdays ng October ang Back at the Museum — October 1, 3, 8, 10, 15, 17, 22, 24, 29 at 31.

Ito ay for the benefit of the Shining Light Foundation.

Ang tickets ay nagkakahalaga ng PHP10,000, PHP7,500, PHP5,000, P3,000, at PHP1,500.

GORGY RULA

GARY V ON THE INTIMACY OF MUSIC MUSEUM

Kaya sabi pa ni Gary V bago niya kinanta ang "Gaya ng Dati" (1991), na isinulat ng isang pastor mula sa Bulacan: “I think it’s obvious na that you see how much I really enjoy what I do.

“And one big reason why I love coming back to the Music Museum is because of the intimacy of the venue.

“I performed here even in the first, the very first Music Museum, yung nasunog.

“I was out there by the… right there in front of Teatrino looking at the old Music Museum go up in flames. And I never thought it was gonna come back, but it did!

“And since then, well, it’s remained… it’s kept its intimacy. And I feel that when I’m able to do these songs. You know why?

“To be honest with you, the person farthest away from me is only a stone throw away.”

Pagpapatuloy ni Gary V.: “But it means, it means… it becomes even more memorable when I can actually see your faces.

“I can see if you’re enjoying. I can see if you’re trying to text. And you know, there’s always a reason why people have to text.

“But you know, at least your ears are here, you can hear the music.

“And many of the songs that I do often have a message na kailangan it’s delivered in an intimate way.

“And so… I mean, especially when you talk about songs that tugged at the broken heart or that embrace a weary soul. “Or maybe even help uplift and encourage somebody whose spirit is crushed. But all within the realm of inspiration.”

NOEL FERRER

Andaming pauga sa unang gabi pa lamang ng Back at the Museum concert ni Gary Valenciano this October.

Ang requested songs na kinanta niya ang snippets ay "Shout for Joy," "Hataw Na," "Lead Me Lord," "Growing Up," at "Take Me Out of the Dark."

“This one, I have to sing this because my wife wrote this song, e. So I’ll sing it for her.

"Sasabihin ko sana, ‘No choice!’

GARY V DOCU

Sabi pa ni Gary V: “I wanna thank my docu team. OK, there’s a documentary coming out sometime in April of 2027.

“I did a concert called Pure Energy: One Last Time… at the MoA Arena, and then at the Araneta Coliseum in 2024.

“And there’s a documentary on that particular chapter, those pages of my 40th year. It’s coming out next year ahh hopefully on Netflix.

“If not, it’s going to have a limited run on theaters and you’ll know more about that. But my docu team is here…”

Kabilang sa nanood ng Back at the Museum last Thursday sina Maricel Soriano, John Nite, Veanna Araneta-Fores, Sen. Kiko Pangilinan, Federico Moreno, Harlene Bautista, at Jungee Marcelo.
