JERRY OLEA:
Kumusta na ang pagme-mediate ng Film Academy of the Philippines (FAP) sa hidwaan nina Direk Erik Matti at cinematographer Neil Daza?
“It’s ongoing,” sambit ni FAP Director General Paolo Villaluna.
Nakausap namin siya sa Golden Screen Awards: Dekada Awards 2026 ng MMPress noong Oktubre 4, 2026, Linggo, sa MMFF Auditorium, MMDA Head Office, Pasig City.
“I cannot talk about the details of the case. But it is ongoing and I’m hoping for a really good resolution that will satisfy all parties.
“But most importantly, I hope it gives a message sa industriya na we will have problems; pero sana, we can settle it amicably, internally.”
“Except for one na ongoing, lahat amicable settlement. Although last week may nag-file ng medyo matindi.
“I cannot talk about it pero first level of mediation pa lang. So far, 64. Hopefully, mag-report pa both workers and producers.
“Kasi producers can complain about negligent workers, delinquent workers. Actors who are always late, or sobrang daming raket.

PAOLO VILLALUNA ON VICTIMS OF VIDEO SCANDALS
GORGY RULA:
“It’s their prerogative. I will not assume why they’re not filing,” tugon ni FAP Director General Paolo Villaluna.
“It might be because of social stigma. It might be because of time. I will not pre-judge, but we are open anytime they wanna file.
“In fact, iyung mga nag-file na mga hindi [video] scandal, pero may mga producers na nag-file ng mga complaints about piracy, stuff like that.
"So we were kinda hoping for the victims to come and complain, but wala.”
However, kapag sinumbong siya, meron na kaming responsibilidad to address it.
“So what we do, we write the concerned respondent. Letter na, ‘Hey, what you’re doing is not legal.’ We’ll cite legal instances.
“And then, there are cases they reply and then they say ibababa nila. They just didn’t know, and that’s OK.
“And then we tell them, ‘Isusumbong namin kayo sa relevant na ahensya.’ If it’s public screening, that’s MTRCB.
“Kapag online, we don’t know. DICT or wala na kasing OMB , di ba? So wala talaga.
"FAP and FDCP, we are not mandated to regulate the online spaces for piracy."
Ang DICT ay Department of Information and Communications Technology, habang ang OMB ay Optical Media Board.

ON FAP SUPPORTING LENTE
NOEL FERRER:
Talagang in full swing ang Film Academy of The Philippines (FAP) sa mga gawaing pang-industriya. Maraming salamat talaga!
Kabilang dito ang series of learning sessions called LENTE LAB covering entertainment journalism ethics, digital reporting, social media, media law, and AI ethics affecting the sector of entertainment reporters.
