NOEL FERRER

Facebook post ni Direk Benedict Mique: “Been watching Filipino films for the past days both sa sinehan at sa streaming and I can say that audiences are going back to the cinemas and the screens because of the quality of films being shown and the decrease of ticket prices sa cinemas.
“Films are for the masses worldwide otherwise you are catering to less than 5 percent of human beings. It applies to both theatrical and streaming platforms.
“And any film requires craftsmanship and a certain degree of artistry. Filmmakers need to harness both instead of clout chasing and trying to be relevant specially now that the process of making a film has become more accessible. Mag aral magkwento kesa magpasikat.
“But the best kind of films are those that people can relate to. It was obvious when I was at SM Aura. The viewers there are working class and you know that they really worked for the money they were spending.
“So its important to be in touch with the people, serve their needs and not look down on them.
