NOEL FERRER: Grabe nang umiinit ang isyu ukol sa Cinema Evaluation Board (CEB) sa bagong post ng direktor ng Balangiga: Howling Wilderness na si Khavn dela Cruz ukol sa iba’t ibang kontradiksyon na pinagdadaanan ng mga filmmakers.
Kaya minarapat ng inyong lingkod na magkaroon ng isang independent forum at dialogue para talakayin ang mga isyu na ito.

Given the situation now of the Zero Grade of Balangiga: Howling Wilderness and We Will Not Die Tonight and the Adjusted Grade from Zero to B of Gusto Kita With All My Hypothalamus by the Cinema Evaluation Board, and while there are issues arising from the very nature, composition and actual conduct of the functions of the CEB, we would like to thresh out these issues that affect the industry in general.
Kami ni Arlyn dela Cruz ay nagri-reach out sa parties involved sa issue to a FORUM/ DIALOGUE on the CEB issues on THURSDAY AUGUST 23, 3 p.m., in a venue to be announced later.

2. Liza Diño-Seguerra of the Film Development Council of the Philippines
3. Christine Dayrit, Chairman of the Cinema Evaluation Board and her members
4. Ricky Lee, FAMAS Awards Head Jury and other jury members
5. Grace Alfonso of the Manunuri ng Pelikulang Pilipino and other members
In the interest of transparency and film audience education, this forum and dialogue will be open to the public.
So far, nag-confirm na sina Khavn dela Cruz (Balangiga) at Richard Somes (We Will Not Die Tonight), at Ricky Lee (FAMAS Head Jury) at mga kasapi ng Manunuri ng Pelikulang Pilipino bilang panelists.
Hinihintay pa namin ang panig nina FDCP chair Liza Diño at hanay ng Cinema Evaluation Board.
JERRY OLEA: Interesado akong malaman kung may koneksiyon ba ang members ng CEB sa movie companies, maging sa mga artistang nagbibida sa pelikula.
Por delicadeza, dapat walang conflict of interest.
Sapat ba ang kanilang kakayahan at talino kaya naipuwesto sila sa CEB, o ang iba ay dahil sa palakasan.
Kung nagmarunong sila nang balewalain ang Balangiga: Howling Wilderness, dapat manindigan sila at huwag magmaganda sa usaping ito!

Sila naman ay nagtatanggol sa panig ng Cinema Evaluation Board.
Ang pagkakaalam daw niya, kahit hindi nabigyan ng grado ang naturang pelikula, puwede namang umapela ang producer o humingi ng dialogue sa mga nag-review para maintindihan kung bakit walang ibinigay na grado kahit Best Picture pa ito sa ilang award-giving bodies.
Di ba, meron namang summation na maaraing nabasa naman siguro ng producer?
Sana idaan daw sa tamang forum, hindi yung sa social media nag-iingay.
Kaya mabuti na ring magkaroon ng ganung forum na iorganisa niyo, Sir Noel.
Pero gusto ko lang sana malaman kung lumapit na ba uli ang mga taga-Balangiga sa CEB para maayos ito?
Base kasi sa mga pagtatanong ko (sa pagkakaintindi ko lang, ha?), ang Cinema Evaluation Board ay hindi naman award-giving body.
Sila ay binuo ng gobyerno upang magbigay ng incentives sa mga pelikulang karapat-dapat bigyan.
Tiyak na magkaiba ang panuntunan nila sa mga award-giving bodies na kailangan talaga nilang magbigay ng parangal.
Saka sa totoo lang, buong giting ba nating masasabi na ang mga bumubuo ng award-giving bodies ay walang palakasan? Walang kinikilingan? Walang impluwensiyahan?
