Angel Locsin will be reunited with former leading man Richard Gutierrez in a new movie to be produced by Star Cinema.
This was announced during a story conference held earlier today, May 9.
ABS-CBN homegrown actress Angelica Panganiban will also be part of the cast.
The film will be directed by Nuel Naval, whose last directorial job was James Reid and Nadine Lustre's 2016 movie This Time.
Direk Nuel is also known for his infidelity-themed movies A Secret Affair (2012) and The Love Affair (2015).
Details about the movie, including its title and story, are yet to be announced.
ANGELICA-ANGEL REUNION. This film serves as a reunion for Angel and her co-stars.
It may be recalled that Angel and Angelica were the two lead actresses in the 2012 Metro Manila Film Festival entry One More Try, which also starred Dingdong Dantes and Zanjoe Marudo.
It was reported that the two actresses had a gap while doing the movie that one of their confrontation scenes became too real for comfort.
However, last July 2016, the two shared on social media one of their bonding moments, which ended speculations about their past issue.
On April 2017, Angelica posted a birthday greeting to Angel and admitted that their friendship had a rough start.
She wrote in her caption: "Hindi man fairytale ang simula ng friendship natin, naniniwala akong, may happy ending tayo."
ANGEL-RICHARD REUNION. Aside from Angelica, Angel is also reunited with her former love team partner Richard, 10 years after their last movie together.
Angel and Richard originally played twins in the GMA-7 youth-oriented series Click.
At that time, Richard was paired with Chynna Ortaleza while Angel had Railey Valeroso as love team.
In 2004, GMA tapped Angel and Richard to topbill the fantasy series Mulawin, which had a successful run from August 2004 – March 2005.
Mulawin is set to air a sequel titled Mulawin vs. Ravena on May 2017, but Angel and Richard are no longer part of the cast, mainly because Angel is an exclusive contract artist of ABS-CBN.
The two actors never worked again in a TV series, but their team-up spawned several box-office hits.
These were: Kuya (2004), Sigaw (2004), Let The Love Begin (2005), Mulawin: The Movie (2005), I Will Always Love You (2006), Mano Po 6: Gua Ai Di (2006), and The Promise (2007).
This is also Richard's second movie with Star Cinema.
The first was the 2008 movie For The First Time, where he was paired with KC Concepcion.
