Carlo Aquino reveals that he almost joined the cast of the hit Korean Netflix series Squid Game.

In June 2020, Carlo teased his fans with news that he will be working with Squid Game director Hwang Dong Hyuk for a future project.

The actor posted a handwritten note from the Korean director, who "looking forward" to work with that ABS-CBN star in the "near future."

After more than a year, Squid Game was released on Netflix in September and became an instant phenomenon.

Carlo then reposted the handwritten note from Hwang Dong Hyuk on his Instagram Stories and revealed to followers that his supposed project with the director was the said Korean thriller.

Beatrice Candaza, the sister of Carlo’s partner Trina, revealed in her own post that Carlo wasn't able to join the series because of travel restrictions caused by the ongoing pandemic.

Carlo would have been the second Filipino actor to appear in the series.

South Korea-based Filipino actor Christian Lagahit played one of the 456 players in the series.
