GMA-7 has inked a deal with Wattpad WEBTOON Studios to adapt popular Wattpad web novels for television.
These adaptations will be housed in an umbrella series called LUV IS.
Its first installment, set to air in October 2022, is the adaptation of the hit Wattpad web novel Caught In His Arms by author Ventre Canard. The novel was published in 2020 by Summit Media’s Pop Fiction books.
Caught In His Arms is headlined by Sparkle love team Sofia Pablo and Allen Ansay, known to their fans as “Team Jolly.”
Sofia plays the role of heiress Florence Almero, who flees her privileged and wealthy lifestyle after being forced into an arranged marriage by her father.
She finds refuge in the home of a close family friend where she meets five men called the Ferell brothers. Over time, she develops a close bond with the boys and unexpectedly falls in love with Nero, who is played by Allen.
But just when she seems to start settling into her new life, Florence learns the truth about her mother’s death, revealing an enemy from the past vowing to take revenge on Florence and her family.
Sofia and Allen will be joined by some of the members of Sparkle’s “Sparkada,” such as Vince Maristela, Raheel Bhyria, Michael Sager, Sean Lucas, Caitlyn Stave, Cheska Fausto, Kirsten Gonzales, and Tanya Ramos.
The first installment of LUV IS will air on October 3, every weekday, but its timeslot has yet to be announced.
