Kapuso A-lister Bea Alonzo said she has resorted to using Artificial Intelligence (AI) in some of her daily tasks, but with a caveat.
Use AI in moderation, she advised.
So, how far should people rely on AI technology?
The question was asked during a talking session with media, including PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal), and vloggers at the launch of Oppo Reno12 F 5G in SM Dasmariñas on August 24, 2024, Saturday.
Bea, the ambassador of the mobile brand, answered, “As long as it makes my life easier, I think that’s the whole point of AI. It’s supposed to make your life easier.”
Aware of the controversy surrounding the AI technology being able to simulate human intelligence, Bea said, “Hindi ko pa nakikita yung disadvantage."
However, the actress acknowledged the validity of the current debate about AI replacing human activities—in the workforce, for instance—in the future.
Bea conceded, "Kasi this is very controversial also for us.
“For example, for us creatives, parang mapapalitan ba... Yung mga tao mapapalitan ba? Yung writers? Yung mga artista eventually?
“But I hope hindi naman umabot doon. Sana mas magamit namin yung AI as a tool to better our craft.”
Her point was to maintain balance when using AI technology, “In every way, I guess.” she added.

HOW AI HELPS BEA IN HER DAILY TASKS
Bea described how IA has been helping her accomplish some of her everyday tasks.
As an illustration, she pointed to OPPO's AI eraser that cleans photos of unwanted images.
“Kasi nga kapag nagta-travel ako, sometimes, yung mga tourist spots, di ba, laging may photo bomber.
“So gusto ko na nae-erase ko siya instantly, and then nakakapag-post ako.”
Bea also beamed about the AI recording summary feature.
“It summarizes the entire meeting for me. It translates it to different languages accurately.
“So basically kung may meetings ka, hindi na kailangang mag-jot down notes.
“It summarizes the important details. It really saves me time and energy,” said the actress, who is busy with showbiz commitments.
Currently, Bea is the lead star in the Kapuso primetime series Widow’s War.
