Moving on is much easier for Ara Mina now that she’s a Christian.
Unlike her previous breakups, she has learned to take things in stride this time.
She says about her recent heartbreak: “But normal lang naman, e… Normal lang na nangyayari yun, pero it’s not the end of the world…
“Hindi naman… parang yung the usual na hindi ulit nag-work out. But it’s not my fault, ‘yon, di ba.”
If there’s one lesson she learned: “Kahit anong sama ng loob mo... Kahit dina-down ka ng tao, kahit may masamang sinasabi sa iyo, o kahit hindi ka gusto ng tao, I learned na, smile lang lagi because I know myself and si God nandiyan lang, di ba?”
The actress adds, “Nagma-mature ka…Di ba, pag nagbi-break ako [dati], nasa diyaryo na iyan?
“[But], especially na hindi siya showbiz, respeto na lang dun sa family niya.”
She only revealed the end of her two-year relationship with businessman Raymond Ilusorio Yap recently (CLICK HERE to read story), and it was her personal decision to deal with it alone.
At the Eastwood Citywalk 2 branch opening of Goodah, she tells the press, “Siyempre, six months o seven months ko tinago na wala na kami.
“Kasi, siyempre, every time na nakikita n'yo ako, ‘Kelan ang kasal?’
“So, walang wedding na mangyayari coz we’re not together anymore.
“He has his own life. I have my own life na. And, naghiwalay naman kami nang maayos.”
Did they ever talk about getting married?
“No, not at all,” she retorts.
“He never mentioned it, e.
“Hindi rin ako nag-aano na, ‘Kelan tayo magpapakasal?’ Wala, wala talaga sa bokabularyo.
“Kasi, nag-aano pa kami, getting to know each other…”
What’s the reason behind their split?
She answers nonchalantly, “Wala. Nagkaroon lang talaga ng differences, and mahirap rin siyempre pag nawala yung trust, di ba.”
Startalk’s Gorgy Rula repeats, “Nawala yung trust?”
“Medyo,” she says before bursting into laughter, “Talagang medyo, 'no!”
Ara resumes, “Oo, hindi na ako nagpaka-arte, 'no.
"Sinuyo niya ako. Talagang long hair ako. Pero ayoko na. Ayoko na.”
LOOKING FOR MR. RIGHT. Another lesson she learned: “Pag nasa Lord ka na, may bibigay talaga siyang dapat na guy for you.
"Siguro ano yun…dahil I trust Him na so much kaya hindi ako sobrang na-depress nang husto.”
When asked if she’s ready to fall in love again, the 32-year-old star remarks, “Aarte pa ba ‘ko? Matanda na ako, 'no. Kaya, I’m looking for a person na makaka-settle down ko, di ba?
“Yun yung kung ano yung gusto ko sa buhay. Yes. Husband-material…
“Gusto ko yung husband-material talaga.
“E, yung iba nga, kahit 40-plus, nakakapag-asawa pa, e.”
Throughout her moving-on phase, was sister Cristine Reyes there for her?
“Hindi niya alam. Lately lang niya nalaman,” she says.
Ara does not know anything about her younger sister’s lovelife either.
She continues, “Ako nga, e, nananahimik ako sa lovelife ko, so, wala akong alam sa lovelife niya.
“Hindi ko alam. You better ask her kasi pag lovelife niya, hindi ako nakikialam.”
BIBLE SHARING WITH MANNY PACQUIAO? Several times during the interview, Ara cites her close relationship with God.
Interestingly, Manny Pacquiao—one of the men linked to her in the past— is now also focused on studying and sharing the Bible.
The teasing begins.
Being the good sport that she is, Ara says, still laughing, “Nice... Mag-share kami ng verses.”
Moving away from the topic, she relates how the “words of wisdom” have been helping her deal with life: “Kahit anong dumating sa iyo, parang ang gaan.”
Going back to Manny, PEP asked about Bible sharing again.
“Oo naman. Pero iba yata yung church niya, e…Why not? There’s nothing wrong. It’s word of God.”
Even with Jinkee Pacquiao?
Her parting shot: “Ang saya nun!”
