Maintaining red hair, according to AC Bonifacio, is “really not that complicated.”
In fact, she does the dyeing process herself.
At Star Magic's Spotlight presscon held on March 13, 2024, the Kapamilya star says, "I think a lot of people think it is because it's so vibrant red. But I started off...
"Because my hair is black po talaga and it wasn't red yet, so I'm able to put natural color on it without having to bleach it.
"Pero patong-patong na po kasi to. Mga one year na po to patung-patong."

She does not go to the salon?
"When I see na nag-fade na po siya, I'll go home siguro after rehearsals, after work, I'll just mix. It's literally just red hair dye. Any red hair dye."
She could not tell the exact brands she had used because she would buy whatever was available.
"Kasi I don't have a specific po because when I'm traveling, when I'm in Japan, I buy whatever red hair dye there is. There or in Canada, whatever po is convenient for me. I just mix it. Kahit box dye lang po.
On Instagram, she further said, "To maintain this red, I’m always-always dyeing it two to three weeks kasi natatanggal talaga siya pag naliligo."

HOW AC BONIFACIO DYES AND MAINTAINS RED HAIR
The three-step dyeing process is not tedious at all.
She said, “I just put it on my hair. I clip my hair up for an hour. Then naliligo po ako after.”
But despite the “patung-patong” color, her hair looks so soft.
Grinning, she quipped, “Actually patay na po siya.”
So what does she do?
"I use hair oil Vitress po that really keeps it alive somewhat and shiny throughout the day and it smells good also. So I use hair oil like that."
On Instagram, she specified using the serum and the hair polish that are both packed with Keratin pro-vitamin complex, which is known for restoring the hair's structure.

Meanwhile, PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) recommends the Naturtint brand for hair-coloring needs. The shade closest to AC's hair is the light mahogany chestnut.
