Bianca Gonzalez is proof that skin problems can erupt, no matter one's age.

In her case, acne was never an issue during her teenage years, but a change in lifestyle triggered it later on.

At the time, already an established television host, she experienced a skin breakout.

In an exclusive interview with PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal), at the Cetaphil SkinLABS 2025 event held in Cavite, she recalled:

"Actually, kakaiba yung skin story ko kasi usually people get super acne in their teens.

"Ako, never in my teens. In my 20s, talagang clear skin.

"And then for some reason, nung nag-30s ako, I guess kasagsagan ng career—puyat, gimmick, lahat.

"As in, I super broke out.

"Sobrang late bloomer in life, pati skin problems, naging late sa life ko.

"So thankfully, na-overcome yung stage na yun.”

Bianca's next breakout was triggered by stress and skin-care products.

She continued, "The second era of skin problems was really the pandemic.

"So when nangyayari yung lockdown, super clear na yung skin ko.

"And then in lockdown, super andaming iniisip—stress again.

"Tapos yun yung era ng budol, kung anu-anong tina-try mo sa balat mo kasi wala kang magawa, nasa bahay ka lang.

"I super broke out again.”

BIANCA GONZALEZ'S TWO-STEP SKIN-CARE ROUTINE

Right away, she decided to do a “skin reset” by sticking to her tried-and-tested two-step routine: cleansing and moisturizing.

The Pinoy Big Brother resident host said, “Kailangan yung pinakasimple lang. Wala nang ka-ek-ek ka na ilalagay sa face.”

She swears by one particular brand, "That's the cleanser of Cetaphil. I've been using that for over a decade na.

"Kasi nga, most dermatologists you talk to, yung classic blue talaga yung recommended nila.”

Later on, Bianca made a small addition to her routine.

“Ang dinagdag ko noong 2020 was the moisturizer—the green daily moisturizing lotion, yun lang.

"Yung two steps na yun, sabi ko, basta consistent ako dito.

"And then yun, until now, that's my two-step simple skin care."

BIANCA GONZALEZ'S BEAUTY TIPS

She also shared two pieces of beauty advice for women in their 40s.

NOOD KA MUNA!

"Siguro that, kasi wala na tayong magagawa sa past. Madami tayong what if or sana about our 20s and 30s.

"But, siguro, to women in their 40s,” she paused before adding, "Hirap, ha, 20s or 30s, madaling mag-advice. Pag 40s, siguro, to accept that our...

"I feel like 40s is the decade where your skin will drastically change. Meaning, hindi na siya as young as it used to be.

"So sabi nila, in your 40s, dun parang bumababa yung collagen.”

Collagen is responsible for keeping the skin plump and firm.

According to Medical News Today: "Collagen forms a scaffold that provides strength and structure within the body. It is an essential component of connective tissue and plays a crucial role in holding the body's cells together. It also provides strength and elasticity to the skin."

As people age, their skin becomes saggy and less taut.

The under-eye area is often the first to show signs of aging, which is why Bianca has started using an eye cream.

But Bianca reminds everyone not to worry too much.

“As long as merong acceptance that this is the era where our beauty will evolve, yun ang pinaka-importante.

"Do not be too hard on ourselves when that slowly happens."

Lastly, she gave one universal beauty tip that applies to kids, teens, and adults alike.

"It's something I wish I did earlier," referring to SPF or Sun Protection Factor.

"Matigas ulo ko. Late 30s na ako nag-regular SPF.

"So now, the kids have swimming in school or if they have parang outdoor activities, I make sure they know na mag-SPF sila. So that's all.”

BIANCA GONZALEZ'S BEAUTY TIPS to her daughters

Speaking of her daughters—Carmen, 9, and Lucia, 6—has Bianca started giving them beauty advice and what tips would she want them to remember?

She admitted, "Hindi pa ako nag-beauty advice, but what I can say is, they always watch me and what I do as my routine.

"So at night, kahit tapos na sila mag-wash up, they like watching me washing my face, drying my face, putting moisturizer, putting eye cream. Gustung-gusto nilang nanonood.

"And for me, more than verbally saying it, hopefully, them seeing that every night growing up will make them, I guess, want to take care of themselves also as they grow older.

"Kasi siyempre, at their age, hindi pa naman nila kailangan. But because they see me doing it, hopefully, ma-imbibe nila yun.

"Next is I always, always tell them to drink a lot of water. Kasi napaka-underrated nun as a skin-care tip.

"Sa totoo lang, people think it's only for dehydration or dahil kunyari active ka, but it's really for the skin as well. Sobra!"
