Kira Balinger bared her beauty truths in an exclusive interview with PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal).
The conversation took place on May 21, 2025, at the Avignon Clinic’s Grand Alabang branch, during the launch of NBright combination therapy—a new skincare treatment Kira herself had tried.

SKIN CARE WHILE INSIDE BAHAY NI KUYA
Fresh from her stint as a housemate in Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Collab Edition, Kira was asked about her beauty routine.
Inside the Bahay ni Kuya, access to vanity items was limited and contestants had to make do with minimal luxuries.
“Honestly, in that house, we are so deprived. You really have to make do with what you have,” she said.
“And, of course, before going into the house, you have to inspect your things. You can't bring too much of something, whatever that may be.”

She revealed one of her beauty hacks: Ice.
“So, I would do that as soon as I woke up to reduce the puffiness, and I would also do it before bed as well to close the pores.
“Of course, inside Bahay Ni Kuya, we don’t have a machine and everything. You just gotta make do. So, I had ice. That was a big help for me inside the house.”
When asked if she did this with the other female housemates, she chuckled and said, “It’s just me. Everybody else had their creams and stuff, moisturizers. I just had ice.”
ON OVERCOMING INSECURITIES
But outside the PBB house, Kira had to face the pressure of always looking good.
She admitted that beauty doesn’t shield anyone from self-doubt.
“Yes... I mean, you can't live this life without having insecurities. Meron at meron talaga.
"But I really do feel that you have to process talaga. It’s not an overnight thing when it comes to self-love. And yeah, it's something to really work on."
She continued: “It's tough. There are lots of things that influence the way that you look at yourself, di ba, especially with social media.
“Yung mga nakikita natin sa social media, siyempre, dumaan iyan sa sobrang daming editing apps and everything.
“So, I think what helps me is just really being authentic and being happy with what I am, with what I have, and, yeah, gratitude.”
When asked about her physical insecurities, Kira didn’t hesitate to reveal one in particular.
“Oh my—it's actually my teeth,” she said with a laugh.
“Actually, mas malala yung pagkasungki ko dati. I did have braces twice, but I had to take it off unfortunately, like a bit too early. So medyo bumalik na siya sa dati.
“And especially when the lighting is on this side, when I smile, it looks like wala akong ngipin dito.”

Kira then brought the conversation back to gratitude.
“So that's my insecurity, but, at the same time, I have to be grateful that I still have teeth. I can still smile, so that’s something to be grateful for.”
Does she have beauty goals?
The 24-year-old actress replied, "I don’t think so. I don’t really set goals when it comes to beauty.
“I just take it day by day and whatever I look like, I just try to appreciate that as much as possible.
"But in the future, I just hope I age like fine wine.”

KIRA'S MESSAGE FOR YOUNG GIRLS FEELING THE PRESSURE
Before wrapping up the interview, Kira was asked to share a message for young girls struggling with body image and social media comparisons.
Her response was both empathetic and empowering.
“Oh, my loves. Do not take social-media standards seriously.
“Because believe me, those pictures that you see online, they have gone through hundreds of editing apps.
“What you have is enough. And I hope you find it within yourself to really love and embrace yourself. Embrace everything that makes you, you. So, good luck. Thank you.”
