Princess Synne and Prince Sean, the eldest twins of Joel Cruz, had a grand party on September 7, 2019, for their 7th birthday.
The grand kiddie party, which was attended by around 300 people, was held at the businessman's mansion in Canyon Woods, Tagaytay City.
Seeing the gifts brought by the guests, PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) got curious about the toys owned by Joel's kids—Prince Sean and Princess Synne; Prince Harry and Prince Harvey, 3; Charles and Charlotte, 2; Zaid, 1, and Ziv, who is turning one on November 6, 2019.
Joel said, "Di ba yung PEP, nag-shoot sa house sa Sampaloc? Parang toy store yung room at nakikita nila yung mga laruan nila dun."
But most of them were gifts.
He continued, "Halimbawa, kagaya nito pag may party sila at madami silang gift na natatanggap, yung mga na-receive nilang gifts, may storage room kami at doon namin nilalagay yung mga regalo nila."
He also set some rules when it comes to opening the gifts.
The first rule: "Para hindi sila magsawa, they open the gifts one at a time."
The second rule: "After nila maglaro, they will return the gift sa box then saka nila itatago uli."
Because his kids have a lot of toys, going to toy stores is a different experience for them.
"Kapag pupunta naman kami sa mga toy store, hindi naman talaga kami bumibili ng toys, kasi madami na nga silang toys sa storage room namin, e.
"Ahead of time ay sinasabihan ko na sila na bawal bumili ng toys.
"Andun sila sa toy store para maglaro. They can play kasi may mga store naman na they allow the children to play."
Good thing they don't insist on having their way and throw tantrums.
Joel said he stands his ground.
"Noong five years old si Sean, minsan nagpunta kami sa toy store. Umiiyak sa akin si Sean dahil may gusto siyang bilhin na toys.
"Kahit umiiyak siya, di ko binili yung toys, and I explained to him kung bakit. He understood naman, and he said sorry to me, 'tapos pinatatawa ko na siya.
"Ganun yung relationship ko sa kanila bilang ama nila para di sila ma-spoiled."
Speaking of spoiled kids, Joel himself is wary of this.
"Usually ang mga nag-spoiled sa kanila ay yung mga tito nila, tita nila, at yung lola. Minsan dahil alam nila na ini-spoiled sila ay they take advantage. Pag ako minsan, sinasabihan ko sila na it’s not good."
