Something exciting has emerged on the usually-busy stretch of Mindanao Avenue in Quezon City.

On March 14, 2024, the public was welcomed to the 268th branch of Shakey’s, the 78th branch of Peri-Peri, and the 4th collaborative “synergy” of the two food giants with R&B Tea and Potato Corner.

Clustering them all in one place is, according to Shakey’s Pizza Asia Venture’s Inc. President and CEO Vic Gregorio, creating “synergies” for all these “wow brands.”

At the presscon held before the ribbon-cutting ceremony, he said, “All of these…complement each other, and they can become leaders in their own category, and they're supposed to deliver all the wowing experience.”

SIX things TO KNOW ABOUT THE NEW DINING SPOT

Here's what you need to know about the dining spot COO Jorge Concepcion called a “showcase” and a place for “great times, great memories.”

1. The area boasts of “around 30” parking slots. This is actually a rarity in the area.

2. “Hindi nakakasawa” because there’s variety.

Concepcion underlined, “Kasi we recognize naman, di ba, siguro it's not realistic to expect that our guests will be at Shakey's araw-araw.

"So when you come [to] this area, you will have a choice...

"We have Potato Corner and R&B in between Peri-Peri and Shakey’s… we have the water fountain there, open air.”

3. You can “cross-order” from the other stores without having to leave your seat.

Let’s say the whole family went to Shakey’s for pizza, but the teens wanted milk tea from R&B Tea.

The big bosses assured that the orders from the different establishments will all be brought to your table.

Gregorio elaborated, “We also select brands purposely and consciously.

"If you like pizza, of course, [Shakey's] is the way to go. But if you like fried chicken, we have chicken and chips.

"But if you want healthier, like grilled chicken, then we have now Peri-Peri.

“Kung yung mga kasama, mga bata ay gusto naman with french fries, we now have Potato Corner.

"Even in this place, in this facility, the fact that you can eat the chips, but if they like Peri-Peri chicken, our staff here will be more than happy to help them and get the chicken across the store.

"And same thing with french fries.

"So housing all of the brands together, whenever there is a chance, we will grab it because it provides more value for the consumer, for the guests...

“It just provides more power to the consumer, to the guests, and we believe it's going to be a great way to wow them, which is the end goal of every brand that we have.”

Rommel Turbanos, the CBU operations director, called it “the opportunity to be able to optimize the synergy of the brands.”

4. Diners are treated as “guests.”

Concepcion beamed, “So if you go to our stores, we make sure na talagang air-conditioned, the seats, the ceiling, the ceiling heights…

"So the staff, we ask them to go beyond, anticipate what the guests need. Pagpasok dito, init-init, abutan mo agad ng tubig.”

Gregorio was proud to say that they have taken their “wowing” tagline to the next level, and they are now “wowing everyone everywhere and everyday.”

Even the restrooms, he said, are always clean.

5. There’s a charger for your phones, tablets and iPads, and laptops.

Concepcion said, “Dito… kung may gusto magpa-charge, magpa-charger, puwede magpa-charge.

“Di lang outlet, puwede charger sa store para ready kung kailangan mo.”

6. No discrimination.

There's also no screening for the guests and the staff.

Since 2017, Shakey’s has been “inclusive in our hiring process.”

Gregorio emphasized, “We do not discriminate, and it’s the company’s way of giving back.

“So all these programs, again, pasasalamat lang for all of the years of blessing and patronage that we get from the Filipino families.

"And the more you help, I think, the more you get blessed what you have.”

Interestingly, March is the company’s anniversary month, and it will be celebrating its 50th birthday in 2025.
