Luis Manzano is excited for wife Jessy Mendiola, who is set to make a big showbiz comeback this year.
At the launch of Shakey's Supercard Super Cars Monthly Grand Giveaway promo on January 21, 2024, he tells a group of reporters, "...She missed the industry. She misses the craft, the people in the industry, so kung ano man iyan, whatever she wants to do—magteleserye, mag-movie, whatever the offers are.
"It's gonna be a very busy 2024."
Jessy's last major project was Sandugo, which aired in 2019, before the pandemic.
Now that she's married and has a baby, did Luis set limitations for her as far as roles are concerned?
"Sa akin, do whatever you want Seryoso, if it will give you artistic fulfillment, then by all means, go ahead.
"I grew up in the environment na yung mommy ko [Vilma Santos] would do bed scenes...kissing scenes, and I fully understood that it was for the craft.
"Yes, parang sa akin, if, for her, there's fulfillment in that role, by all means, go ahead. Basta sabihin niya na, 'Masaya ako bilang isang artist,' I mean, I will never ever argue with that. Whatever that entails."
At this point, Luis says that the same goes for him.
He jokes, "So ready na po ako. At 42, ready na po ako sa mga mature roles."
LUIS AND JESSY'S PRIORITY
Seriously speaking, it's clear to the couple that their firstborn Isabella Rose, a.k.a. Peanut, is their priority.

"We make sure as much as possible na may bantay si Peanut."
Will he allow Peanut to enter showbiz?
Luis quickly said, "I wouldn't mind. In fact, may nakadalawang endorsements na siya.
"But in terms of acting or anything, I would love for her to try. But I wouldn't pressure her to try.
"If she tells me na, 'Papa or Mama, ayoko na.' By all means.
"Pero at least gusto ko, you know, after a few years, sabihin niya, 'I tried.'"
Do they plan having another baby this year?
"Zero pa. May mga contractual obligations pa na kailangan niyang asikasuhin. Pero hopefully, in a year or two, e, maging ate na si Peanut."
