GMA-7 actress Lovi Poe was among the celebrity guests during the third day of the Bench Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2018 show at Bench Tower in Bonifacio Global City on Sunday, March 11.

Remember Lovi Poe's nude selfie on Instagram?

On March 21, the Kapuso actress explained that she was "channeling Brooke Shields in the Blue Lagoon" when she took the photo at her villa in Amanpulo.

The iconic 1980 movie which starred Brooke and Christopher Atkins had a lush tropical island as its main setting.

Since then, her post has garnered more than 211,000 likes on Instagram, at press time.

In an exclusive interview with PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal), Lovi appreciated the positive response she received from her followers, but kept her reaction quite coy when she said, "What you see is what you get!"

And just like some celebrities, she also has her share of negative comments each time she posts swimsuit photos on social media.

But the 29-year-old Kapuso actress usually just brushes them off.

She explained, "Well of course, not every one can accept or is ready for someone like me.

"Sometimes, I can be a bit too much for some other people.

"But then, this is how I express myself, and I'm proud about it.

"As long as wala akong tinatapakang tao, intentionally, at least...

"I think that's the only thing very important para sa akin."

The The One That Got Away star said she is just humbled that many Pinays also look up to her as an inspiration.

She continued, "Of course, it's very flattering. But you know, ang dami-daming mga Pilipino, ang dami-daming mga babae na puwede nating sabihing magandang ehemplo at saka magandang maging inspiration sa ating lahat.

"Every woman has her own story, and every woman can be an inspiration."

Her tip to women struggling with their own confidence: "Every one has their own insecurities, and it's not bad having insecurities.

"And those insecurities will help you humble yourself, and also make you strive for more, and that's a good thing.

"Just embrace your imperfections and love them, because, you know, at the end of the day it's your beautiful soul that counts."

PEP.ph caught up with Lovi at the third day of the Bench Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2018 show at Bench Tower in Bonifacio Global City on Sunday, March 11.

DIET AND WORKOUT. PEP.ph went on to ask how Lovi maintains her 21-inch waistline even if she's busy taping for her Kapuso primetime series.

Lovi said she's following the 80-20 diet rule.

The Kapuso actress expounded, "Eighty percent of the time, I'm healthy-eating, twenty percent of the time, I'm eating what I want.

"I don't believe in starving yourself and stopping yourself eating certain kinds of food.

"It's nice to indulge yourself every once in a while."

Regular workouts also help maintain her figure.

She added, "Workout din, of course, but you can never outrun a bad diet, so work out and healthy lifestyle talaga."

Lovi makes sure to find time and start her day with a 30-minute workout.

She said, "I try to work out every day, at least 30 minutes a day.

"Kahit my trabaho, at least thirty minutes. It makes a big difference, e.

"But it's not just about how you look, e, but how you feel.

"Ako, before my day begins, I get up early in the morning before even my call time, and then I work out.

"Kasi it makes me feel much more inspired, and makes me feel more happy to work that day."

Lovi discourages people from becoming seasonal gym-goers.

She explained, "I think it's important to have discipline, and consistency is key.

"I don't believe in like achieving a certain kind of goal para lang sa summer.

"Kailangan lifestyle mo yun, hindi siya puwedeng, 'Ah, magsa-summer na, magdyi-gym na ako.'

"Dapat part of your routine na talaga yun."
