It has always been a dream of Zsa Zsa Padilla to build a farm.
"I think a lot of artists like that, di ba? Parang balance in our world?" the Divine Diva said during her pocket conference for her Totally Zsa Zsa concert last April 12.
"You would always hear yung mga artists natin, especially kung malapit na sila sa retirement, they venture into farming.
"They want to be close to Earth."
Both Zsa Zsa and her fiancé Conrad Onglao share this dream of having their own farm.
That's why back in March 2018, the couple worked on building Casa Esperanza, their future farmhouse in Lucban, Quezon.
Casa Esperanza covers around 1.9 hectares of land.
Why Lucban?
Zsa Zsa briefly recounted her first trip there, "I first went there nung namatay yung sister-in-law ni Conrad. So, nagpunta kami sa lamay and then sa libing.
"Sabi ko, 'Ang ganda dito. It's so green and lush!' Because it rains a lot.
"Ang summer sa Lucban is only one month. Ngayon tag-ulan na, pero mainit pa rin. Pero umuulan na."
HANGING OUT
The construction of Casa Esperanza is fifty percent done, and there is no house yet.
But Zsa Zsa often spends her free time there, and whenever she is there, she isn't Zsa Zsa the Divine Diva.
The singer is simply herself, "Walang ayos, 'tapos my favorite outfit there is T-shirt and maong and my boots.
"And sometimes because it rains a lot there in Lucban, rain jacket. I enjoy so much."
For now, Zsa Zsa and Conrad spend their weekends in Lucban.
"Siyempre sa umpisa weekends pa lang, then eventually if it's a place you feel you'll be comfortable in when you retire, ganyan... You have to think about these things."
For now, as they wait for the house to be finished, Zsa Zsa is slowly learning how to manage her farm.
She and Conrad have been learning how to plant and harvest their produce. Once they have mastered the process, they plan to turn the farm into a bed-and-breakfast destination.
"Eventually, pag ready na talaga yung lugar—matagal pa yun—we'll open to the public.
"Maganda kasi yung farm to table, di ba? We want to those na parang mga fresh salads, sila gagawa. Parang bed and breakfast siguro."
