For a split second, Mikael Daez and Megan Young had everyone fooled.
The two photos Mikael posted early this week did give their fans a start.
In one, he was seen holding a baby close to his chest; in the other, Megan is cradling the infant.
The GMA-7 actor, obviously with mischief in mind, started his Instagram caption with a teaser: "Surpriiiiise!!!"
The puzzled fans clicked "Read More" and the rest of Mikael's caption read: "We have an ecq baby....
"A baby niece that is! it's our family's first baby girl"
Megan posted the same photo on her Instagram profile, but wrote right away in her caption that the baby is Mikael's niece Lucia.
Lucia is the daughter of Mikael's sister Bea.
She was born in the time when the enhanced community quarantine was imposed on Luzon in March and modified in May.
Reacting to Mikael's post, actress Coney Reyes, who last worked with him in the GMA teleserye Love of my Life, teased, "Ready na???"

The others cheered Mikael's hashtags.
His hashtags—"#WagAssumingPo," "#TanongNyoSiBonezKungKelanNa," and "#ImAlwaysReady"—seemed to hint at his readiness to have a kid of his own.
However, in a follow-up Instagram post, the Kapuso actor clarified that he and Megan are "in no rush."
He added, "Whatever happens will happen."
Mikael and Megan got married in the beginning of 2020.
They held two ceremonies: one intimate ceremony at Caleruega church in Batangas on January 10, 2020 and a bigger celebration in Subic, Zambales on January 25.
