Dingdong Dantes's latest project is called DingDong PH, which is not just a delivery app but also a means to hire displaced showbiz workers as its riders.

The idea came about after his wife, Marian Rivera, had trouble delivering an order from her flower shop, Flora Vida by Marian.

"One time, meron siyang isang kliyente na kailangan niyang pag-deliveran ng bulaklak.

"Pagdating doon, nagkamali ng pinto 'tapos nasira pa. So last minute, I had to help," DingDong said.

Using his e-scooter, the Kapuso actor personally brought the flowers to the house of the customer.

"Doon nagsimula iyong idea, at lumawak na lang siya. In the past weeks, after talking with friends who share the same vision and passion, an idea was developed, hence, the birth of Doorbell Technologies," he recalled during the GorricetaLaw's online forum Fireside Chat on June 11, 2020.

The Kapuso Prime-time King continued,
"Kung gagawa ako ng isang bagay, gusto ko klaro ang kanyang social impact.

"Iyong inspiration also behind this is the fact that I have several workmates who lost their jobs in the entertainment industry.

"Iyong riders na gagamitin natin, iyong nawalan ng trabaho dito sa industriya namin."

Dingdong himself admitted that he is not tech-savvy, but the pandemic has challenged him to go beyond his limits.

"Ako ang isang taong hindi mo aasahan sa bahay pagdating sa tech, siguro if you asked me 13 weeks ago or 14 weeks ago.

"Pero again, just like so many people, this pandemic became a game changer para sa akin and para sa bahay namin, sa buhay namin.

“As many people know, this also became an equalizer, it leveled the playing field.

"It has crushed and damaged some industries, but it also paved the way for some to flourish."

He has yet to reveal the date of the app's launch, but it looks like it's happening anytime soon.

According to DingDong PH's Facebook page, the riders had already finished their training on motorcycle driving and financial management on July 16.

"Handang-handa at malapit na malapit na kaming mag-DingDong sa inyong mga bahay," they said on their post.
