Mikee Morada once had a dream he became the Pope.
He related this dream to Alex Gonzaga's sister, Toni Gonzaga, in her recent YouTube vlog.
Mikee said, "Naaalala ko nung parang five or six years old, nakita ko si Pope.
"Sabi ko, gusto ko maging Pope. 'Tapos gusto ko maging president, parang laging ganoon."
Since Mikee and Alex were set to marry, Toni figured she should get to know her future brother-in-law more.
She invited Mikee for a one-on-one chat, and here Mikee revealed he was still a kid when he had this aspiration for a religious vocation.
He said, "Nung fourth year ako, high school, nasabi ko rin iyon sa magulang ko, sa parents ko na parang ta-try ko pumasok sa seminary.
"Pero nag-pray na nag-pray ako, 'tapos na-meet ko iyong first girlfriend ko nung fourth year high school din ako."
It was then Mikee realized that priesthood wasn't for him.
He told Toni, "Siguro iyon iyong sign ni Lord na puwede ka naman gumawa… you can spread the Word not just being a priest but through other ways."
The 27-year-old politician had two girlfriends before he met Alex.
Today, he is a councilor in Lipa, Batangas.
looking forward to life with Alex
Mikee and Alex have been a couple for four years now, and they were supposed to tie the knot in October 2020.
But it was postponed when in the weeks leading up to their wedding date, they both tested positive for COVID-19.
When Toni asked Mikee what he's looking forward to in married life, the young councilor said, "Everything. Everything is going to be a first.
"So excited to wake up in the morning 'tapos kasama ko siya."
Mikee asked for Alex's hand in marriage in December 2019. They announced the news on January 16, 2020—Alex's birthday.
