Filipino fans of Kim Soo Hyun are over the moon that the South Korean superstar is back in the country.
The It's Okay Not To Be Okay actor arrived in Manila on Thursday night, June 8, 2022, ahead of his first-ever fan meeting in the country.
Organized by Bench, the event dubbed One Extraordinary Day With Kim Soo Hyun is scheduled to happen today, June 10, 2022, at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.
At his press conference on Thursday, June 9, 2022, Soo Hyun expressed his excitement to be back five years after his last visit to the country.
With the help of a translator, he said, "Five years ago, I visited here with a good opportunity and five years after, I visited here again.
"From the airport, you could see the warm greetings from the fans. And I was very happy to see them again."
Soo Hyun was here in 2017 to attend a VIP launch for a Korean electronic brand.
Soo Hyun told the press he felt honored that this time, a Filipino brand has brought him back to meet his fans.
He said, "Actually, it's been almost a year since I've been a model for Bench, and I'm so honored that I could visit here, with a great opportunity to be here.
"And as long as I know, the Bench brand is a very friendly brand, very popular. And I will also try be best to become a very friendly actor."
Soo Hyun definitely felt the heat of Manila—both from his fans and the weather—as soon as he arrived.
The actor said, "When I arrived at the airport, the hotness of the Philippines embraced me.
"And when I was actually seeing the fans outside and their greetings, because of the heat and the hotness of that the fans were able to give, [I] had to take off [my] jacket."

PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) asked Soo Hyun what he missed the most about the country.
The My Love From the Star actor said his Filipino fans top the list.
Seeing his fans again. Kim Soo Hyun saw through their masked faces and was touched.
He remarked, "The eyes of the fans, not just the fans, but generally the Filipino people, they got the eyes of the angel.
"And the eyes have power, so I believe I miss them the most."
Meanwhile, Soo Hyun's fans may have to wait a little longer to see him again on the screen as he and his team are still evaluating the possible projects for him.
He said, "Actually, there's nothing certain for now. But we're reviewing a lot of scripts for now. So I'll try my best to give you a good news as soon as possible."
