GMA-7's Pambansang Ginoo David Licauco has been busy in the past weeks due to his upcoming prime time series Maging Sino Ka Man, where he stars alongside Barbie Forteza.
The tight schedule has left him with little sleep on most days.
But this didn't stop him from attending the grand opening of Blue Water Day Spa's new establishment at Estancia Mall in Pasig City on Friday, August 11, 2023.
He graced the event as one of the VIP guests leading the ribbon-cutting along with Blue Water Day Spa's top executives Nancy Go (left) and Mary Go Simisim (right).
David also took this as an opportunity to meet his most loyal fans.
He told the press, including PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal), "I really went here because I believe in the brand, number one. Number two, sila yung nagtiwala sa akin before, and to see you guys."
DAVID LICAUCO'S PAMPER DAY
The event prompted David to take a break and treat himself after weeks of hard work.
David mentioned that he typically opts for an "Athlete's Massage" to aid his recovery from stress and to get ready for the physically demanding action scenes of his up coming teleserye.
"I try my best to make time," David said.
"Sometimes, for example... wala akong ginagawa.
"Yung favorite ko dito is yung Athete's Massage, so since lagi nga akong busy, I work out, and I have tapings, and action pa yung Maging Sino Ka Man.
"I really need to go back, actually, to get my favorite Athlete's Massage."
Sundays are usually when David takes time out for himself at the spa, and he usually prefers having his massage while watching a movie.
He said, "I really go sa spa kasi maganda yung facilities e, especially yung sa Banawe.
"Ang favorite ko yung kasi meron silang area doon na puwede kang pmagpamasahe, tapos manood ng movie.
"So, parang killing two birds with one stone, diba?"
But would he treat his Maging Sino Ka Man leading lady Barbie Forteza to a pamper day, if ever?
David responded with enthusiasm, "Oo naman, kung gusto niya. Mahilig din yung magpamasahe. E, mahilig yun magpamasahe, so puwede natin bigyan."
KNOWING BARBIE BETTER THE SECOND TIME AROUND
Speaking of Barbie, David was asked about how his relationship is with his on-screen partner this time around, especially since they've been paired again after the success of their tandem in Maria Clara at Ibarra earlier this year.
David shared that he's thoroughly enjoying Barbie's company and expressed his happiness in learning more about her while collaborating on their latest TV project.
He said, "I think it's only getting better all the time kasi, you know nga, yung time na we spend together almost every day, mas nakikilala ko siya.
"Pati yung mga nuances niya sa acting, mas nae-experience ko.
"And it's such a joy to work with Barbie, of course, kasi napagaling, e. Like yung love niya for acting is contagious."
David also added how much of a good influence Barbie is on him.
He admitted, "Dati madalas akong ma-late. Ngayon, hindi na. Dahil kay Barbie. Nagagalit siya sa akin."
When asked about something specific he discovered about Barbie this time around, David couldn't precisely pinpoint a particular thing.
However, he mentioned, "Wala naman akong na-encounter na hindi ko nagugustuhan kay Barbie. Kasi mabait siya as a person."
