Content creator Benedict Cua considers 2024 his biggest year yet, as he celebrates the milestone of becoming a father.
Benedict revealed this life update in a YouTube vlog titled "My Life Story: Becoming a Father," posted on May 27, 2024.
In the vlog, he proudly talked about becoming a dad to his son Aleck.
PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment) caught up with Benedict at the GMA Gala 2024, held on Saturday, July 20, 2024, at the grand ballroom of Manila Marriott Hotel in Parañaque City, to discuss this new chapter in his life.
For Benedict, his journey into parenthood is both fulfilling and challenging.
He said, "My experience as a dad is life-changing and difficult but rewarding, I would say. And it's the year na, I would say, I would treasure forever."
CHANGES IN BENEDICT CUA'S LIFE
When asked about the major change he experienced as a dad, Benedict said his whole lifestyle has shifted, with his son now being his top priority.
But even with the lifestyle changes and challenges of parenthood, Benedict is just grateful to be in this phase of his life.
In his words, "It's difficult because it's a total change of lifestyle. Lahat na nangyayari sa buhay mo, ibang-iba na.
"But rewarding at the same time since... because since bago mo siya na-experience, iba rin naman talagang makukuha mong reward in return."
Does he see himself becoming a strict parent?
Benedict answered, "Oo, na-feel ko na. As much as possible, I wanted to be BFFs with my son. I also want to balance both—[being] authoritative and being a friend as well."
At the end of the interview, PEP asked Benedict for his advice to other first-time parents and single dads.
He said, "Don't pressure yourself too much. Kasi maraming times na feeling mo, sana hindi ganito, sana hindi ganyan.
"But this is a journey. So journeys naman, hindi na pre-predict, so kaya mo iyan."
