Coleen Garcia is experiencing the fulfilling life of being a mom to a four-year-old son.
Every year in early childhood presents itself with a different set of milestones that are critical to a person's holistic development.
According to Coleen, her unico hijo with husband Billy Crawford—Amari Jayden Crawford—has overflowing energy that, she jokes, is something she can "barely handle."
At the Preview Ball 2024 on September 6, 2024, PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) had the chance to talk to the Playtime actress about motherhood.

Beyond the physical demands of raising a young boy, Coleen finds fulfillment in watching Amari grow and develop new traits.
She expressed gratitude for being able to focus on her son while still working on her own personal growth alongside Billy.
"It's been great. I've been so, so happy," she said.
"We've been taking it slow. We've had one child for the past four years. So, we've really been focusing on him.
"And, at the same time, still building ourselves on the side."
She then talked about how motherhood has impacted her marriage, noting that the changes have been overwhelmingly positive.
"So, it's great because our dynamics as a married couple has changed. But, for the better.
"I feel like everything in our life actually has changed for the better."

The 32-year-old celebrity mom mentioned that while Amari is naturally well-behaved and obedient, he is also beginning to test his boundaries.
She began, "Amari is such a good boy. He's really such a good boy. He's very obedient
"Ngayon, lumalabas yung pagka pilyo. Yung medyo he's testing the limits now," she said with a smile.
"Like, he'll do something kind of mischievous and then he'll laugh about it. So, it's all about discipline at the end of the day.
"You just really have to be consistent. Consistency is key."
As Amari enters the next phase of childhood, Coleen shared insights into the parenting techniques she and Billy have adopted.
When it comes to disciplining Amari, she revealed: "Well, you know, for years, we haven't. But now, I feel like we're starting to find the need for it."
Instead of harsh reprimands, the couple gently guides their son through teaching him about possible repercussions of every action.
"It's more of like consequences. We let him experience the consequences of his actions.
"So, we gently guide him. Like, ‘Hey, if you do that, you might fall.’
"And we're there to, you know, to catch him in case he falls. We let him fall. We let him experience the consequences of his actions."
She assured, "But we're always there to pick him up. We're always there to help him through it."

Coleen's style sense as a mom
Motherhood has also influenced Coleen's fashion sense, particularly when it comes to comfort.
Looking back on how her style has evolved, she related, "I would say some parts of it has changed. I definitely go for comfort now.
She told PEP that before becoming a mom, her outfits were more about being bold and eye-catching.
"Before, it used to be like, okay, let's make it tighter. Let's make it sexier. Now, it's just a bit more relaxed," she revealed.
"I just want to be able to enjoy the events that I attend at the end of the day.
"The comfort really matters to me as well.
"So, I make sure when I put the look together, it's something that I can sustain the whole night."
In response to netizens who shame mothers for dressing a certain way, Coleen asserted that parenthood should not restrict an individual's way of self-expression.
"I believe moms can dress however way they want. I don't think that in fashion, being a mom should change anything," she stated.
