Through her journey into motherhood, Winwyn Marquez discovered the depth of her strength.

In an exclusive interview with PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) on September 12, 2024, she shared that enduring pregnancy and childbirth during the pandemic truly emphasized this resilience.

The interview took place at New Lounge's Mini Lash Doll Get Together at Oro Plato restaurant in Taguig City.

She said, "One thing I realized as a mom is that I'm stronger now. I think less self-doubt.

"Kasi kung kinayanan ko yung hirap na mag-alaga ng baby noong pandemic days, ano pa yung hindi ko kaya gawin."

Winwyn gave birth to her "little princess" Luna Teresita Rayn in late April 2022.

WINWYN MARQUEZ: SHARING RESPONSIBILITIES

With her daughter Luna now a lively two-year-old, Winwyn acknowledged that she and her non-showbiz fiancé "Rayn"—whose full name is yet to be revealed—are encountering a new set of challenges.

Fortunately, the first-time parents have discovered the ideal balance essential for every dual-working-parent household.

Winwyn continues to be active in her showbiz career, while her partner stays busy with his own pursuits.

Based on their experience, there is no such thing as "50-50" split of parenting duties.

She explained, "Hindi siya particularly talaga 50-50, di ba? Siyempre, kung may time ako. Kunyari, my husband goes to work. Ah, ako talaga yun.

"Siguro, time management na lang din siya. Kasi, yun nga, wala namang 50-50 sa relationship mo, di ba?

"So you have to talk it out, you have to plan it."

Winwyn emphasized that compromise between partners and patience are key factors in their parenting journey.

"Patience din ang kailangan. And, you know, it works for us. Kasi at least we thrive in our own line of work.

"So, doon, doon ko masasabi na lucky naman ako na ganun yung partner ko."

Who takes on the role of the stricter parent between Winwyn and Rayn?

Winwyn admitted that it’s her.

She explained, 'Since my child is a girl, she tends to get spoiled by her dad. I’m the one who says, “That’s not allowed, don’t do that.”

“So, I’m the one who disciplines our daughter. However, her dad isn’t overly indulgent either. It’s all about balance."
