Support from family was front and center as Calix Ho, son of actor Dennis Trillo, captured the gold medal in the Men’s Épée Individual event at the UAAP Season 88 Fencing Tournament.
Among those proudly watching from the sidelines was Jennylyn Mercado, who joined Dennis and Calix’s mother, former beauty queen Carlene Aguilar, in celebrating the young athlete’s victory.
The tournament was held on March 13, 2026, at the Makati Coliseum, where the University of the Philippines fencer delivered a standout performance to secure the championship for the Fighting Maroons.

Sharing a snap from the fencing venue and tagging Calix, Jennylyn documented the proud moment on Instagram Stories.
She also reposted a joint Instagram post from the U.P. Maroon Club and Carlene, which highlighted the athlete’s triumph.

Photos circulating online also showed the emotional aftermath of the victory, with Calix receiving hugs and congratulations from his family on the competition floor.
