Bianca Gonzalez-Intal and JC Intal didn’t have a difficult time explaining to their daughter Lucia about Bianca's second pregnancy.
In fact, Lucia is excited to become an older sister to her future sibling.
“Medyo gets naman niya,” Bianca told PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) and Smartparenting.com.ph after her contract signing with a new endorsement deal early this month.
“Every day, she kisses my tummy, 'Good morning, good evening,' ganyan. Tini-tickle niya, she would read a book to my tummy, mga gano'n.”
Pictures of Bianca’s first maternity shoot helped Lucia understand the concept of being pregnant.
“Ever since, medyo gets niya na she was in my tummy,” the celebrity mom continued, “And then finally, we brought her to one [OB-GYN] checkup with us so that she’ll see.
“She saw the heart beating, ‘tapos we were explaining.”
Aside from the maternity pictures and the OB-GYN checkups, Bianca revealed that popular kids show Peppa Pig actually helped her and JC teach Lucia the concept of younger siblings.
The ABS-CBN host said, “Because of Peppa Pig din, that was such a big help kasi Peppa is an older sister to a younger pig, to George.
“So, gets niya iyong concept na may kapatid."
Peppa Pig is a popular British children’s show which follows the adventures of the titular character with her family and friends.
SHARING THE BABY NEWS
Before Bianca and JC announced on their respective Instagram accounts that they were expecting their second baby, the couple kept the news to themselves for about four months.
The first trimester had not been easy, with Bianca vomiting “eight to ten times a day” during her first trimester.
She was alarmed after learning that she lost nine pounds in a matter of two weeks.
Bianca remarked, “Parang I wasn’t sure, 'Would the baby be healthy?' I had all these praning things na I didn’t want to share the news just yet.”
At the same time, Bianca and JC wanted to be sure that there was a heartbeat.
This was the same thing they did when they were expecting Lucia nearly three years ago.
After hearing the heartbeat, the couple told the news to their families, although it took them a few more weeks to announce the news to everyone else.
Bianca continued, “This time around we wanted to keep it to ourselves a bit longer.
"We shared it with other people siguro mga four months na ako, four and a half…
“I was like, ‘Parang more than a puson na ang tiyan ko.’ Parang halata na, we have to tell friends.
“That’s when we told friends and other people.”
Bianca and JC made the announcement on social media last May 30.
The couple made a montage of Lucia kissing and talking to Bianca’s baby bump.
The Kapamilya host is due to give birth late October or early November, making it possible for Lucia and her younger sibling to share the same birth month.
Lucia was born on October 23, 2015.
