Lucy Torres has nothing but sweet memories of her hometown in Ormoc City.
The Leyte fourth district representative has remained enthralled with her birthplace, and it is easy to see why.
It has little-known scenic spots that she was proud to share with her followers.
In her latest set of Instagram posts, Lucy showed off the beauty of her province as she, her sister-in-law Rica, sister Caren, and their friends were having a merienda.
Her first Instagram captured Lucy with her loved ones, gathering around the veranda for a panaromic view of Ormoc.
The caption read, "And on a whim we had a happy picnic in a little house on a hill — this sweet spot with a breathtaking almost-circular view of the city and perhaps one of Ormoc’s best kept secrets until the film Three Words To forever was shot there. "My sister-in-law, Rica, gathered what was immediately available that afternoon— a bottle of sardines, some strawberry-turmeric jam, crackers, rose tea.
"My sister Caren brought heavy sandwiches for bigger appetites (just in case).
"Then we sat to a simple meal with a view fit for a king, talking about good food, great loves and beautiful love stories. [heart emoji]"
Lucy snapped a photo of their "happy picnic."
The Ormoc landscape in the background completed its idyllic ambiance.
Her caption read, "I've had these blue and white cups for as long as I have been married.
"I remember chancing upon a whole lot of them in a warehouse filled with beautiful-things-that-did-not-know-they-were-beautiful, stacked in boxes in a corner, apparently part of a shipment from far and away.
"I bought the whole lot, shared a good amount with friends and loved ones, and kept several sets for myself.
"Through the years I have used them for most anything and everything—hot chocolate, tea, ice cream, fruit salad, nata de coco, Froot Loops.
"They have been a quiet backdrop to perhaps a hundred little memories, a silent witness to maybe just as many stories. [heart emoji]
"P.S. And I love how my sister-in-law, Rica, upon our arrival, asked the caretaker to cut some flowers from the field, propping them in a little blue vase, making our little happy, pretty picnic even more so."
Lucy then posted another photo of their view.
This time, it was taken from her window.
It read, "The world is full of beautiful spaces. [heart emoji]
"This was my view from a window, one beautiful afternoon shortly before sunset, in Bisto, Ormoc City."
With a view like this, no wonder Lucy, husband Richard Gomez, and their daughter Juliana keep returning to Ormoc.
