Jamie Rivera thinks her music brings back people’s faith in God

Jamie Rivera: "So, in a way I’m being an instrument for the people to get back to the Lord. Siyempre, for all I know, after they hear my song, after they’ve been touched by the words of God through my songs, from there on they’ll get back regularly to hear mass. So, I’m not claiming the glory, I’m not getting the credit, but I know somehow I’m becoming an instrument for a lot of people to come back to hear mass."

Abala ngayon si Jamie Rivera sa pagre-rehearse para sa upcoming concert nila nina Lou Bonnevie, Ella May Saison, Gino Padilla, Chad Borja, at Juan Miguel Salvador, ang 80289: 80’s Music To The Max. (CLICK HERE to read related article)

"I go to different churches," banggit ni Jamie.

"I do the offertory, I sing the ’Our Father,’ and then I sing two communion songs.

"Then after that, they give me the opportunity to sell my CDs after the mass, ’yong wala nang kasunod na mass ang normally pinipili namin.

"So, after that, ’yong mga parishioners, they get to buy my CD."

AN INSTRUMENT OF GOD.

"Well, ngayon kasi, it’s not so much that we want to sell the album, but it’s really more of renewing the faith of people to God," saad ni Jamie.

"Kasi ngayon, when you hear the album or any inspirational song, especially if the arrangement is good, you can feel the prayers, e, mas mararamdaman mo ’yong prayers, mas mararamdaman mo ’yong prayers kay God."

Aniya, "Our purpose is not only to have good percentage of sold albums, but for the people to hear the word of God through my songs.

"Especially now, kasi every church that I go to, they would promote, e, ia-announce na nila months before, so, nagugulat ako pagdating ko do’n jam-packed. It’s like a concert, when I get to the churches, punong-puno ’yong mga simbahan.

"So, imagine that, ibig sabihin no’n we get to invite people, we get people to hear mass because of the songs, because you are there.

"So, in a way I’m being an instrument for the people to get back to the Lord.

"Siyempre, for all I know, after they hear my song, after they’ve been touched by the words of God through my songs, from there on, they’ll get back regularly to hear mass.

"So, I’m not claiming the glory, I’m not getting the credit, but I know somehow I’m becoming an instrument for a lot of people to comeback to hear mass."

ALBUM PRODUCER.

"I’m arranging songs for Fatima Soriano.

"Her album, Lift Up Your Hands, we revived it, we came up with nine cuts in the album of Fatima which are, ’Lift Up Your Hands,’ ’Sino Ako,’ ’Mariang Ina Ko,’ ’Give Thanks,’ the song from 100 Days which is ’Mahiwaga,’ and ’Nandito Lang Ako’ from Momay.

"So, ako ’yong producer no’n, that’s what is new with me."

Now when you give it a different arrangement, mas nakaka-engganyo.

I never used to be touched by it.

"It’s crucial.

"Kasi kapag narinig na, kapag kinakanta ko na, kahit ako mismo naaantig ang puso ko, para bang Lord, you realize your blessings, your realize what you’ve done in your life, ’yong gano’n."

I think now, I’m being blessed by the Lord by giving me all the inspirational songs to work on, not only for my self but also for other artists."
