GMA Artist Center addresses Dominic Roco’s sentiments about his career; says the network "is committed in fulfilling his contract"

Wika ni Simoun, “We’re not saying that hindi siya priority because, definitely, the network sees him as one of the better character actors in his generation.”

Saad ng GMA Artist Center executive, “We already communicated to him in the past that he will be part of Indio.

“So, he has a very, very vital role in the soap.

"We cannot divulge yet the detail of his role, the details of what his character would be.

"But, definitely, it is one of the very significant roles.

“Isa siya sa mga magiging major characters in the soap.

“But since Indio is a multi-generational story, mahaba talaga yung process when it comes to the taping.”

Kaya para raw mawala ang agam-agam ni Dominic, sinabi ni Simoun na: “We will also discuss with him and reassure him that he will still be part... that he is part of Indio and has a very, very significant major role, actually, in the soap.”

AFTERNOON SOAP.

Dapat sana ay kasama si Dominic sa isang bagong afternoon show ng Kapuso network, pero kinailangan nilang i-pull out ang aktor dahil “we feel that he is better fit for the role in Indio."

Dagdag pa ni Simoun, “So, initially, he was to be a part of a separate soap.

“It is one of the afternoon soaps dapat, e, na nandun siya, na ilalagay siya dapat doon.

"And at the same time, Indio will run for until May [2013]—ganun katagal, e.

“So parang naisip namin na it’s really a good exposure for him and a really good opportunity for him as well if he will be part of the Indio cast—as one of the major characters.”

MAKAPILING KANG MULI.

Saad niya, “Actually, for Makapiling Kang Muli, ang nangyari no’n, he was part of the pilot week.

“Nawala siya sandali because of the buildup of the story, but then bumalik siya ng fourth week hanggang do’n sa ninth week.

“So, matagal din talaga yung babad niya.

“If I’m not mistaken, it is around seventeen to eighteen taping days yung tineyp [taped] talaga ni Dominic.”

“The reason why we gave him that specific role is because he is one of our better character actors in the network.

“So nakikita talaga namin na kaya niya yun, because it was a very, very challenging role.

“So, yun lang, we just want to put straight na it wasn’t sandali lang.

"Because nag-tape siya from the pilot week and fourth week until the ninth week of the soap—which is seventeen to eighteen days.”

COMMITMENT TO THE CONTRACT.

Aniya, “Definitely, we want to ensure that the network is committed in fulfilling his contract.

Pagpapatuloy ni Simoun, “So, hindi siya yung tipong last year lang yung soap or for the previous months.

"We also cast him as the lead in Sisid. Then he was a major character in Makapiling Kang Muli.

"And now, we’re putting him as a significant character, a major character in the upcoming Indio."

Diin niya, “The network is committed to fulfill the contract that we have with Dominic, and we’re able to fulfill that obligation.”

“Kasi, naiintindihan din naman namin na we do have an obligation and he is really one of our talented actors in the network.”

BASED ON LOOKS?

Paliwanag ni Simon, “The way we cast our programs kasi is through the program committee.

“It is represented by different representatives from different departments.

“So, of course, GMA Artist Center has a say there, but it’s not exclusively GMA Artist Center who decides who will be the cast where.

“It is actually an entire committee that decides on the casting procedure.”

“I have to say that the network really values Dominic’s talent and contribution to the network.

“We actually see him as one of our better character actors in his generation.

“That’s why we gave him nga Sisid, then we gave him Makapiling Kang Muli, and now he’s going to be a part of Indio.

“So, hindi siya tipong… we’re not saying that hindi siya priority because, definitely, the network sees him as one of the better character actors in his generation.”

NO CHANGES FROM ARTIST CENTER?

“So we can really reassure him that he’s going to be part of Indio, that the network is really committed in fulfilling its obligation.

“So maybe it’s just a matter of reassuring him of the plans of the network for him.

“Kasi, magaling naman talaga si Dominic, e. Nakikita talaga ng network yung value niya.

“Kaya imi-meet namin ulit siya just to reassure him na, ‘Oo, you’re going to play in Indio a major role, and it’s taking long before your taping because nga of the essence of the soap, na Indio is multi-generational siya.’

“So, imi-meet namin talaga siya just to assure na nasa Indio pa rin siya.

“Kasi baka siya mismo, iniisip niya na, ‘Bakit hanggang ngayon hindi pa ako nagte-taping when the other people have already started?’

"Kasi, it’s the buildup of the story nga rin, e.”

RELATIONSHIP WITH TALENTS.

Tuwing mayroon daw talents na nagkakaproblema sa kanilang career, “We try to make ourselves available for the artists kung may concern sila, kinakausap din talaga namin.

“After that, whatever their concerns or issues are, or suggestions, if meron man, we bring that up with everyone—with the management—and we discuss how to better improve the systems that we have.”

“But at the same time, i-assure natin na may plano talaga yung network.

“Parang ako kasi, I would rather attack it on an action-oriented [way], tingnan natin kung ano yung puwede nating gawin.”
