Sa ilang araw na pag-uulat ni CNN news anchor Anderson Cooper tungkol sa naging epekto ng pananalasa ng bagyong Yolanda sa Tacloban City, Leyte, naging saksi siya sa tibay ng mga Pilipino sa pagharap sa kalamidad na ito.
Dumating si Anderson sa bansa noong nakaraang linggo para sa coverage ng CNN sa mga lugar sa central Visayas na sinalanta ng bagyong Yolanda—na may international name na Haiyan.
Sa kanyang Reporter’s Notebook sa CNN noong November 16, Sabado, ipinahayag ni Anderson ang paghanga niya sa Filipino typhoon survivors dahil sa ipinamalas nilang katatagan at optimismo sa kabila ng trahedyang dinaranas.
Kahit sa kanyang tweet noong November 16, 2013, tinawag niyang "awesome" ang Pilipinas.

KORINA SLAMS ANDERSON. Matatandaang nagkaroon ng iringan sa pagitan ni Anderson at ng ABS-CBN broadcast journalist na si Korina Sanchez.
Ito ay matapos sabihin ni Korina sa kanyang morning radio program na Rated Korina, noong November 13, Miyerkules, na tila hindi alam ng CNN news anchor ang sinasabi nitong wala umanong government presence sa Tacloban.
Ang pahayag daw ni Korina ay pagtatanggol naman sa kanyang asawa na si Department of Interior and Local Government Secretary Mar Roxas, na siyang in-charge sa government relief operations sa mga apektadong lugar.
