Jim Paredes on bishops calling for PNoy’s resignation: “Sino papalit, si Binay? Naisip ba nila ’yon?”

Singer Jim Paredes points out that some bishops have been calling for PNoy’s resignation since day one. "In other words, they’ll find any reason to call for [PNoy’s] resignation."

Sagot niya, “[When] a revolution happens, it is defined and redefined according to the generation that is reviewing it.

“Every year, tatanungin ‘yan, 'Ano ba ang meaning ng EDSA?'

“But for me, it’s all about freedom. The freedom we have now.

“At 35 years old, EDSA happened.

"Eighteen years of that 35 years, I was under Marcos’s rule.

“I could not talk, I could not sing. Na-ban kami sa radio.

“So, ganun ang meaning sa akin nun.

"When I fought that, it was about freedom for me."

MESSAGE TO BISHOPS.

"One month pa lang si PNoy, they called for his resignation already over Luneta.

“In other words, they’ll find any reason to call for [PNoy’s] resignation.

“Sino papalit, si [Vice President Jejomar] Binay? Naisip ba nila 'yon? Naisip ba nila talaga 'yon?

“The church unfortunately has many dishonest leaders with egos the size of cathedrals.

"Some are real politicos in cassocks wanting to impose their political views.

"Asking the President to resign is the most idiotic thing I heard from these bishops.

"I have absolutely no respect for them, not just for this but for many other reasons."

JIM ON OPM.

Sabi niya, “These are the people who will decide what OPM is gonna be, so ako, I’ve done my contribution.

“We started it in our generation. Now it’s up to them to bring it where it wants to go.”

Sagot niya, "What OPM has to do to be heard in the world is for it to be an experience that people have never had."

“Arnel is a great, great singer, but nobody really knows he’s Filipino, except Filipinos.

“But when you hear [Antonio Carlos] Jobim, Brazilian! When you hear this K-Pop, K-Pop!

“Alam mong may pinanggalingan, may local story, may local narrative.

“Ang bawat kultura, mayroong theme.

“It’s Italian food, but it’s international now.

"It’s Chinese food, but it's international now.

“Definitely. We have so much talent, we just need direction,” sabi ni Jim.
