Lea Salonga responds to negative reactions about her Independence Day tweet

Lea Salonga is confused about Philippine Independence Day: “June 12, 1898 was its DECLARATION after Spain. But, there were the Americans, then Japanese, and Americans.”

“I'm man enough to admit when I'm wrong. #SorryNotButthurt”

Sabi ng Pinay international singer-actress, “Thanks to many Twitterers, I have learned the difference between KASARINLAN and KALAYAAN.”

Kaugnay nito, muling napatanong si Lea: “When is Independence Day?

“Yes, June 12, 1898 was its DECLARATION after Spain. But, there were the Americans, then Japanese, and Americans.”

Kung pagbabasehan daw kasi ang nabasa niya tungkol sa kasaysayan ng Pilipinas, “What we celebrate therefore is the declaration on June 12, not the actual on July 4.”
