Nagkaayos na sina GMA Network Inc. Chairman at CEO Felipe L. Gozon at San Miguel Corporation President Ramon Ang kaugnay ng gusot nila dahil sa naunsiyaming business deal sa pagbili sana ng huli ng shares ng GMA.
Humantong ito sa paghahain ni Ang ng estafa complaint laban kay Atty. Gozon dahil sa hindi nito pagsauli ng P1 billion downpayment na ibinigay niya noong kasagsagan ng kanilang negosasyon.
Sa ulat ng GMA News Online kahapon, August 13, pumayag na raw ang major shareholder ng GMA na isauli ang isang bilyong pisong deposito ni Ang.
Kapalit naman nito, iuurong ni Ang ang kanyang reklamo sa Department of Justice laban kay Atty. Gozon.
Sa joint statement ng dalawa, sinabi ritong tinanggap ni Ang ang paliwanag ni Gozon na walang kinalaman ang ibang miyembro ng Gozon Group sa kanyang desisyon na huwag ibalik ang downpayment.
Nakasaad sa statement ng Gozon Group: “The settlement was initiated by a third party who is known to both Mr. Ramon S. Ang and Atty. Felipe L. Gozon. It resulted in a mutually acceptable and win-win settlement for both parties.”
Narito ang kabuuang pahayag nina Ramon Ang at ng Gozon Group:
"Mr. Ramon S. Ang and the Gozon Group have resolved their differences and have reached an amicable settlement of their dispute.
"Mr. Ang has agreed to withdraw the complaint he filed in the Department of Justice against Atty. Felipe L. Gozon, Felipe M. Gozon, Jr., Anna Teresa Gozon-Abrogar, Ismael Agusto S. Gozon, Belinda G. Madrid, Ma. Erlinda G. Gana, Jaime Javier Gana, Florencia Gozon Tarriela, Edgar Tarriela, Tricia Tarriela Valderrama, and Atty. Gozon has agreed to return the Php 1 billion to Mr. Ang.
"Atty. Gozon has explained, as stated in GMA’s disclosure to the PSE last August 5, 2015, that, 'In making the decision to retain the downpayment, Atty. Felipe L. Gozon did not consult with the other members of the Gozon Group.
"The said other members had no participation in the said decision.
"Mr. Ang has accepted Atty. Gozon’s explanation about the non-involvement of the other members of the Gozon Group in the retention of the downpayment."
