Luis Manzano is grateful to Angel Locsin for remaining to be thoughtful of him despite their breakup.
“Very thankful din naman, very thankful,” said the in-demand ABS-CBN game-show host.
Luis was interviewed by PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) and other members of the press at the press conference of the upcoming ABS-CBN game show Family Feud, held at the ABS-CBN studio this Tuesday, April 4.
Angel said previously that despite the breakup, she is still protective of Luis.
Angel and Luis confirmed their breakup earlier this year, but clarified that they remain on friendly ground.
As it happened, the actress was offended when Luis was criticized and called names by bashers who defended their actions when confronted by Angel herself.
They said they were upset with Luis for hurting her feelings.
The two continue to work together in Pilipinas Got Talent (PGT), he as co-host with Billy Crawford and she as one of the judges with Vice Ganda, Robin Padilla, and Freddie Garcia.
Luis assured that there is no awkwardness between him and Angel at PGT.
“Siguro for a while, pero eto magkaibigan kami. Let’s leave it at that.
“Mas gusto namin ‘yon kesa sa magkaaway kami.”
‘WE’RE FRIENDS.’ At the presscon, Luis tried to keep Angel off the discussion, worried that dragging the name of her ex might be construed as a way to promote his new game show.
But the entertainment reporters pressed on, and asked Luis about the March 27 episode of Pilipinas Got Talent when he ran to Angel’s aid when she complained of her aching back.
Angel had had two operations to correct a disc bulge.
“Thank you na-appreciate niyo. Let’s not expound on it na,” Luis acknowledged.
“Honestly, nakakahiya kay Angel na napag-uusapan, nadadamay siya.”
Is there a possibility they might get back together?
Luis said, “Ayoko nang i-expound talaga kasi nga nakakahiya sa tao. Masabihan akong user.
“Less talk, less mistake.
“We’re friends, yun lang. At this point, we’re friends, I don’t wanna add color.
“Basta magkaibigan kami. Sa lahat ng pinagdaanan namin, magkaibigan kami.”
DATING NO ONE. There was also a comment about him seeming to unaffected by the breakup.
His retort: “Bakit, kailangan ba umiiyak ako, nagwu-walling ako pataas?
“Bakit? Ano ba ang requirement?
“Pag naapektuhan, kailangan ba nakikita niyo sa ASAP na hindi ako makasalita sa sobrang lungkot ko?
“Ang taong naghahanap ng mali, makakahanap ng mali.
“People looking for good, will always find good. People looking for negativity will always find negativity.
“Pag may ibinigay akong isang magandang bagay dito, ang isang taong naghahanap ng mali, may mahahanap na mali.”
As for lessons he learned from his last relationship, the actor-host answered, “You learn something for every relationship.
“Para sa akin, live life. Yun lang talaga. Life is too short not to be lived.
“That’s what happens with every relationship.
“Yun ang sinasabi ko kaya sinasabi ng ibang tao dapat malungkot ako.
“Hindi, mahal ko ang buhay ko.
“Kailangan ba sobrang gumagapang ako papunta sa trabaho? Hindi.
“Every relationship, learn to live life.”
He also clarified that he is not dating anyone at the moment and he is uncertain as to when he will be ready to fall in love again.
“Di ko alam. I wish I knew. Darating ‘yan.
“Minsan iniisip mo di ka ready, bigla na lang may darating.
“At the same time, akala mo ready ka, di pa pala.”
Would he prefer a non-showbiz girl next time?
“It doesn’t matter,” Luis replied, “I don’t wanna categorize.”
