Mike Enriquez reacts to catcalling issue and media boycott of President Duterte

"Whether for good or for bad, it's too early to say or conclude… isang linggo pa lang [siyang namumuno.]"

"Na-interview ko na yun, before the elections, sa aming presidential series, both for radio and TV.

"He is what he is, you know.

"Duterte is what he is.

"He is beautiful because you don't have to see through him, e, what you see is enough to fill up your paper for the whole day."

Tugon ng 64-year-old multi-awarded media personality, "I try not to have impression of people, especially presidential candidates.

"I've tried… very, very hard. I'm not saying I've succeeded every time.

"Tapos ngayon, pinipigil niya, e, in front of the whole world.

"To make a very important point is, totoo siya. No pretensions.

"I'm gonna wear maong? And I'm gonna wear barong.

"Of course there's a tinge of arrogance there. Yung tipong ganito, 'I'm the president.'"

At pangalawa, ang pagkakahirang niya bilang Reader's Digest's Most Trusted Radio Presenter nitong nakaraang June 30.

Sabi ni Mike, "Well, I wouldn't have done that to any one, to any woman, in public, in full beam of the cameras.

"I will answer that question like this… inaanak ko si Mariz at si Raffy sa kasal...

"When that happened, I sent Mariz a text.

"And I said, 'Mariz, I want you to know that I'm behind you all the way.'

"That answers your question."

MEDIA BOYCOTT.

Tugon ni Mike, "I think the better word is… Duterte… because he has not succumbed to the trappings of his office.

"He is not necessarily more believable, I would not wanna say that this early.

"He seems to be more common than royal, which is what previous presidents were."

"We just remain focused, that's what I tell my people sa DZBB, 'Just stay focused on the work.

"'All of this boycott, hinaharang kayo ng PSG [Presidential Security Group], nire-restrict kayo sa isang lugar lang, hindi kayo makakuha ng magandang anggulo, and all that, that's part of the game.'

"Some presidents are president like this. Some are presidents are like that.

"But our job remains the same—we get our story."
