American singer-songwriter Taylor Swift rose from last year’s ninth ranking to be the number one highest-paid celebrity for Forbes’ Celebrity 100 list for 2016.
Thanks to her 1989 World Tour, the 26-year-old pop star earned a total of $170 million.
Taylor last held a concert in Manila as part of her Red Tour back in June 2014.

BIG BUCKS. Aside from Taylor, other Hollywood musicians made it big in Forbes’ roster of highest-paid stars.
Popular boy band One Direction claimed the second spot with a total of $110 million worth of earnings.
Even with Zayn Malik’s departure sometime in March 2015, One Direction managed to earn more than any other active band to date.

A self-made woman, “Hello” singer Adelle ranked ninth in the list with a total earnings amounting to $80.5 million.
Madonna, who held a concert in Manila last February, grabbed the 12th spot in Forbes highest-paid celebrities for 2016. Her earnings amounted to $76.5 million.

Rihanna finished 13th in the list with $75 million worth of earnings.
After coming up with a hit album Purpose last November, Justin Bieber made it to 26th spot with a total of $56 million earnings.
Beyonce grabbed the 34th spot with a total of earnings worth $54 million. It’s a few notches lower compared to her 29th ranking in 2015.
Katy Perry, who got busy with Prismatic World Tour from May 2014 to October 2015, landed Forbes’ 63rd highest-paid celebrity with a total of $41 million worth of earnings.
With a maximum capacity of 55,000 people, the Philippine Arena was packed with Katy’s solid fans when she came to Manila May of last year.

J. Lo. also made it as Forbes’ 68th highest-paid celebrity with a total earnings of $39.5 million. The singer-TV host actually earned more as she was only 98th in Forbes’ roster for 2015.
Canadian rapper-singer Drake landed the 69th spot with earnings amounting to $38.5 million. It’s a few notches lower compared to his 54th ranking in 2015.
British singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran finished at No. 82 with a total earnings of $33.5 million.

American pop star Britney Spears—whose earnings amounted to $30.5 million—remains to be one of the highest-paid celebrities in the world as she landed 99th spot in Forbes’ Celebrity 100 list.
