Janine Tugonon will return to the Philippines for a 2017 NU Muses Calendar documentary.
Despite failing to secure a slot in the 2016 Victoria's Secret Fashion Show, Miss Universe 2012 first runner-up was able to make the cut in the first global search for the Top 12 of the 2017 NU Muses Calendar models.

Janine is the only full-blooded Filipina among the Top 12 models.
As part of a documentary film for NU Muses, the crew wanted to have a bigger appreciation of Janine's life back in the Philippines and they decided to shoot on location to learn more about the country's culture and arts as well.
On Instagram, Janine was happy to announce her return to her home country and hometown in Bataan.
She wrote, "DONE. BOOKED. two of our @numuses documentary film crew and I are coming to the Philippines !!
"They thought it'd be great to see my hometown (BATAAN I MISS YOU), how my life is there, our culture and our take on arts!"
On a personal level, the former beauty queen looked forward to eating her favorites.
"As for me, i am excited to eat fishballs in the streets and pandesal and drink fresh buko that doesn't cost $5 each!
"SEE YOU REALLY REALLY SOON PHILIPPPINES!"
