Muling nag-trending sa Twitter si Senator Tito Sotto.
Ito ay dahil umano sa "hindi makatao" at "walang kabuluhang" komento nito kay Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Secretary-designate Judy Taguiwalo sa hearing ng Commission on Appointments (CA) kaninang umaga, Mayo 3.
Ang CA ang magdedesisyon kung maipagpapatuloy ng mga presidential appointee, kagaya ni Taguiwalo, ang iniatang na tungkulin sa kanila ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte.
Sa pagtatapos ng pagtatanong nila ni Senator Franklin Drilon kay Taguiwalo, nagsabi si Sotto na may personal siyang katanungan para sa kalihim.
Ang tanong niya: “On a lighter side, Senator Drilon and I were looking personal information about you.
"You have two children, daughters ba o sons...? But you’re single?”
Diretsong tugon ni Taguiwalo, “My life has never been a normal one.
"I never had a home-father-mother-children kind of thing, except when I was growing up in Bacolod.
"Remember, I graduated from U.P. [University in the Philippines]. In 1970, I did organizing work.
"From 1972 up to 1986, it has been a life underground or in prison.
"So, well, my story would be different from the stories from those who have gone through you know… U.P., corporation, etc.”
Komento ni Sotto, “Yung sa… in the street language, when you have children and you are single, ang tawag dun, e, 'na-ano' lang.”
Dito na nagtawanan ang ilang mga tao sa gallery ng Session Hall.
Ang ibig sabihin ng "na-ano" lang ay nabuntis o naanakan.
Samantala, walang pagkatinag na sinagot ni Taguiwalo si Sotto.
Pahayag ng DSWD secretary, “Okay, Senator Sotto, I teach women's studies, so we respect all kinds families, and that includes solo parents, thank you.”
Nakangiti pa rin si Taguiwalo matapos niya itong sagutin.
Ang "naano lang" ay madalas gamitin ni Sen. Tito Sotto at ng iba pang hosts ng kinabibilangan niyang noontime show, ang Eat Bulaga!, sa mga contestant sa programa na may anak ngunit walang asawa.
Sa susunod na linggo ipagpapatuloy ang pagdinig ng CA para sa appointment ni Taguiwalo.
Ang sumunod sa kanyang umupo sa pagdinig ay si Gina Lopez, na ni-reject ng Commission of Appointments upang maging secretary ng Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR).
