Kris is no longer answering questions about her love life.
We found this out yesterday, July 4, when PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) asked the Queen of All Media if she's ready to love again.
She said, “The one thing I’ve learned—deal namin ito ni Bimb—na that part of my life is mine.
“Whether there’s someone or there’s no one, I’m not gonna talk about it. O, mature!”
She elaborated, “In 46 years of my life, if you think of it, of those 46 years, 34 years have been lived in the public eye.
“I realized na there’s a portion of your heart, and now, that personal portion, akin na lang yun.”
At the same time, Kris said she wants to spare her sons Josh, 22, and Bimby, 10, from the backlash of any gossip about her love life.
“And my son, especially my ten-year-old, also deserves that [privacy]. Siya ang naa-affect.
“And talagang nako-color yung judgment niya because nababasa, e, nakikita.
"So, parang, ayoko talaga.
“If the mother can spare him the hurt by keeping quiet, then I shall do that."
It has been more than two years since Kris had a serious, albeit “tumultuous,” relationship with Quezon City Mayor Herbert Bautista.
By mid-2016, the former couple rekindled their friendship, with Kris saying that Herbert has been there when she went through a professional crisis.
Kris was also spotted at the wake of Mayor Herbert’s father in February this year.
While there have been speculations about a reconciliation, Kris maintained that she and Herbert are just “friends.”
AVOIDING INTRIGUES. In PEP’s latest interview with Kris, she explained how a simple comment about her love life can easily get blown out of proportion.
“Kasi, I can't help it, e.
"As simple as kanina, my sister was texting me na nagpa-dry clean yung mga driver nila ng things.
"Tapos sinabi na yung bill namin in the same hotel na nagpapa-dry clean kami, hindi raw nakakuha ng discount kasi hindi raw nadala ng yaya ko yung discount card.
"E, hindi naman totoo, kasi may discount naman talaga.
“Anyway, sabi ko, ‘See, as simple as dry cleaning, napagkukuwentuhan na.’
“E, kung ako pa ang magtu-talk about it, e, di lalaki pa.
"So, huwag na lang pag-usapan because I feel that I deserve that privacy."
RANDOM THOUGHTS ON LOVE. Kris may have decided to keep her love life under wraps, but she sometimes let it slip in her own social media posts that she still prays for a “lasting love."
Stories We Are Tracking
It is also interesting to note, that her favorite hugot lines come from the Hollywood film 500 Days of Summer, about a guy devastated by an unrequited love.
Kris shared, “Whenever I’m feeling bad, pinapanood ko siya.
"Sabi ko, may hustisya sa mundong ito. Ayun! Hahaha!
“And then Bimb was watching, and he said, ‘Why do you keep watching it?'
"And sabi ko, 'Bimb, because it makes you feel good.'
“Sabi niya, ‘Why?’
"Sabi ko, ‘Because at least it’s the guy who feels bad.'"
Kris also pointed out that it’s mostly women whose hearts get broken in relationships.
She elaborated, “And then, parang siya, hindi niya maatim as a guy.
"Sabi niya, ‘But Mama, why did she do that? She was already dating someone and she still danced with him at the wedding.’
“Sabi ko, ‘Sometimes it really happens. But they had closure.’
“And I think for all women and for all men, you just love closure. Kaya tuwang-tuwa ako doon.”
